Swim - Stew's August Page

For my Week 51 page at Scrappin'-n-Chattin', I created the August page for Stew's calendar.  One more week and I will have created a page a week for 2 years.

I used this week's sketch at Sketch Inspiration to create this page.  The page was originally supposed to have 3 photos, but I really liked this sketch, so I eliminated 1 of the photos.....

We were so surprised at how much Tessa loved the water this year.  She would go into the creek every time she was out.

I am also entering this page at Frosted Designs, for the Day 9 of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge.  The challenge is to use 9 pearls or sparkles.  There are 9 pearls on the page - 3 under the right photo, 1 in each of the 4 flowers and 2 stacked in the upper left corner.

Thanks for looking.  I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

House Calendar - May Page

I have started creating the pages of our calendars for 2013.  Maybe I will be done before March this time.... I usually make 2 calendars one for my office and one for Stew's office.  This I am adding 1 more.  I am making the calendar for the house.

I started with the May page for the house calendar.  I was inspired by this week's sketch at Sketch Inspiration.

I wasn't sure I liked it when it was done.  But the more I passed by it, the more I liked it.

I am using this page as my Week 50 entry into the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I have completed a page a week for a total of 102 weeks so far.  Wow...

I also entered this page into one of the monthly challenges at SnC.  The challenge is called Around, and we are asked to journal around the photo, an embellishment, the page, etc.  I journaled around the photos.

This week's challenge at Lasting Memories is Anything But Snow.  These photos were taken at the beginning of spring, so no snow here....

And I am entering 1 more challenge with this page.  Frosted Designs is doing 12 Days of Christmas challenges.  They have a bunch of great challenges.  I hope to join in most of them.  On this page I used 5 gold brads, which qualifies this page for the Day 5 Challenge of using 5 gold things.

Thanks for looking.  I hope to get a huge jump on these calendars this weekend.  Stop back by and see how far I get.

2011

Over the weekend, Scrappin'-n-Chattin' had their monthly 24 Hour Challenge.  You list 3 collections that you have, and our host April chooses 3 sketches.  April then chooses which participant will choose the collection and sketch that another participant will use.  This is one of my most favorite challenges and try to do it each month.

My friend Dawn made the selections for me....  She chose Nikki Sivils Happy Holly-Days, and sketch #1 which was the 11/05 for BasicGrey....

This is a really nice sketch, but it really kind of scared me.  I didn't think I could come up with enough photos or enough journaling on something that I had not planned out for several days.  But I was able to come up with something.  I'm quite happy with the page.

I had taken advantage of a sale Nikki Sivils had last month and a ton of great papers came a couple of weeks ago.  I have not had many of Nikki Sivils products and really enjoyed working with these papers.

I am also entering this into this week's challenge at Frosted Designs.  The challenge is Buttons - use at least 5.  I used 5 green buttons as my circle elements along the journaling card.

Thanks for looking....

Happy Halloween

A couple of weeks ago I created a layout using the November 9th sketch from Boys Rule.  I really liked the sketch and thought it was a great jumping off point for my page....  Here's the sketch:

The subject again is my Willie, the poser.  I had to bring the flowers and pumpkins in to keep them from freezing, so I set them up in the solar room.  I had wanted to do a photo shoot outside with everything, but that never happened.

I hope to work with the November 30th sketch too.  I have missed using the Boys Rule sketches.  Thanks for looking.

Happiness is....

Week #48 in the 52 Week Scrapping Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I can't believe the year is almost over.

For my page this week, I used the great sketch at Sketch Inspiration.  I had taken a lot of picture of Willie with the new toy I got for him over the weekend.  So I was able to choose the perfect photos.

And here's my page....

This guy loves the camera.  The other 2 are getting better too.  I was also inspired by this week's challenge at Frosted Designs, Happiness is....  They asked to create a project that shows what make you happy.  When Willie has such fun playing, it makes me really happy....

Thanks for stopping by.....

Cheese

Happy Thanksgiving.  I hope everyone is ready to spend some time with family and friends over this holiday weekend.  All of my boys will be coming over tomorrow, with wives/girlfriends.  It will be so nice to have everyone together.  It's been a super busy several weeks here, and this week is even rougher.  We are working 10 hours days all week (except for tomorrow).  It will be nice to have the weekend off.

I created my page for the 52 week challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  It's Week 47 this week, and since I haven't missed a week since starting this challenge in 2011, this will make 99 weeks straight that I have created at least 1 page a week.  WOW!!!

For my page this week, I chose some photos of Tessa I took with a Halloween costume on.  It was a little black and purple witch's costume.  She's still learning to pose nicely, so they are not the greatest photos.  I used several pieces of inspiration as a jumping off point.

The first inspiration was this month's sketch at DCWV.

I love this sketch.  I was so excited when I saw it.

The next inspiration was the photo/color inspiration for this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs.  Just perfect for Halloween themed projects.

And my page....

I used DCWV Indian Summer Fall Stack.  Perfect colors.

I am also entering these challenges:

ScrapFit - Layered banner with at least 2 textures.  The banner has paper, cardstock that is embossed and ribbon.

Scrap It Girl - Tree Challenge - Stamped tree on the journaling spot.

Lasting Memories - Stamp Those Layouts - Tree stamp and bird to the left of the banner.

The Cuddlebug Spot - A Feathery Challenge - The stamped bird has feathers.  I used my Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder to emboss the cardstock banner pieces.

Thanks for looking.

Enjoying The Dance

I got my layout done for the 52 Week Challenge very late this week.  I started it a few days ago, but it got a little more complicated than I had planned.

For this page I used this month's sketch at DCWV.  It's a beautiful sketch.

I also followed this week's challenge at Lasting Memories.  Their challenge is a fun one.  You choose 4 items out of the hat to include on your page....

Thanks for looking.

The photo I chose for my page is one of Jackie and David at David's brother's wedding last year.  I loved this photo when I saw it posted on Facebook.  They looks so happy....

I used papers from the DCWV Linen Closet stack.  Such beautiful papers.  My choices for the LM challenge was Flourishes, Brads, Words and Ribbon.

I'm also entering this page into the current challenge at Frosted Designs, which is to use a Sport/Dance theme in your project.

The Cluster

I hope everyone is having a good week.  Another busy one here.  We had a real good time at the trial last weekend.  Going to another one this weekend.  So I didn't get my page for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' done over the weekend.  But I started it last night and finished it tonight.

I wanted to incorporate one of the monthly challenges at SnC into this layout.  I've only created 2 pages this month, and nothing for the challenges.  For this page I used 4 photos, which is one of the challenges this month.  Of course I needed a sketch.  I chose Sketch #228 from Creative Scrappers.  I really liked this one and it was very easy to put the page together with it.

The photos I used are from last year.  Willie and I traveled to West Springfield, MA to attend an AKC Agility trial at the Big E.  What an awesome place.  They have agility, obedience, rally and breed shows all going on at the same time.  So much to see, so many vendors.  Very exciting.  It was the first time that Willie has stayed in a motel.  He was a little nervous, and cried when I had a shower.  But he was real good.  It was a great experience.  I'm not going to compete there this year, but hope to go and hang out for the day with my boyfriend.  Here's my page....

I am entering the page into a couple of other challenges as well.  ScrapFit's Warm-Up #32 is to use buttons or bows.  Well, I used a bunch of buttons here.  I am also using this as my 2nd entry into this month's challenge at Scrap It Girl.  The challenge there is also button, use at least 12.  I used 15.

Thanks for looking.

1st Trial

Not too bad.  I got my layout complete for the 52 Week Challenge on a Tuesday of a very busy week.  I really had not planned to do a page tonight, but I was stuck downstairs updating the firmware on my Cricut, so I made use of the time putting a page together.

For this one, I chose Harley as my subject.  I couldn't remember if I had scrapped the results of Harley's first agility trial.  I checked my pages waiting to be put away.  Nothing there.  Then I checked his book.  Nothing there either.  It must have been that I posted it on Facebook and just thought I scrapped it.

His first trial was an AKC one.  AKC is a little tougher than my favorite venue, CPE.  Willie hasn't qualified yet in AKC.  Hopefully next weekend.  Harley qualified in his first jumpers run, with a 1st place.  Pretty good job.

To create my page, I used the September 14th sketch from Boys Rule.  Such a versatile sketch.

I used Echo Park's Little Boy collection.  I love the fun colors and patterns in this collection (actually I love almost all of there collections).

I embossed the stars that I punched and added above and below the photo....  So I am entering the page into the current challenge at Frosted Designs.

For the circle elements, I added tiny buttons.  There are actually 20 buttons on the page.  So I am entering this month's challenge at Scrap It Girl, which the challenge is to use at least 12 buttons.

Thanks for looking.  Time to get the dogs out and then to bed.  4:00AM comes very early.

Pure Joy

It's been very busy here lately.  Not much time to create.  I have been keeping up with the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  This is Week 39.   I'm so glad that I have been able to keep up with this challenge.

For my page this week, I wanted to use some photos of the dogs playing frisbee recently.    The pictures contain all the dogs, but it's Willie that I really wanted to capture.  He doesn't catch the frisbee and he rarely even brings it back.  But he loves to run after it and "help" Harley carry it back.  These photos show how happy and excited Willie gets to chase the frisbee.

As a starting point for the layout, I wanted to use this month's sketch at SnC that Theresa Neubaum created.  I love the sketches she creates each month and really try to use each one.

I used some of my Summer Fresh collection by Simple Stories that I won at SnC in July.  I love this line and have to get some more.

I followed a couple other challenges for this page as well:

Lasting Memories - Ribbons, Lace and Pink
Twine - Tied on the center button
Arrows - One on each photo
Circles - The partial circle background and the buttons
         Bird - In the title
Red - Red lace, red flowers on the paper, red strips on the paper

Thanks for looking.  More dog events this weekend, one with a photographer.  Hopefully I will get some great agility photos to scrap.

I Ate Daddy's Hat

Wow....  After creating a Christmas card everyday for 30 days last month, I needed a break.  I haven't made a blog post since August 30th.  That's enough of a break.

Tonight I created my layout for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  Our monthly challenges this month are to enter challenges at other sites.  That's pretty easy.  I usually try to get double duty with my pages.  The most popular sketch being used by members of the group right now is the September Authentique sketch.  It's awesome, and so versatile.

When I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use a photo of Tessa that I took after she chewed up Stew's hat.  Stew's not very good at not leaving things around.  And Tessa takes full advantage of it.  2 hats, 2 pair of glasses, a wallet.....  I learned early.  She chewed on the heel of my sneakers, so the closet door stays closed.

I used Authentique's Gathering collection to create my page.  It felt really good to create this page.  I may do another one this week...  Thanks for looking.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 30!!!

I made it!!!  I created a Christmas Card a day for 30 days.

Today's final prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was to scraplift a card created by earlier in the challenge.  I scraplifted my friend Suzanne.  Here is her card from Day 3.

And here is my take....

This has been a fun challenge.  I am so glad I gave it a try.  Thanks so much for all of the wonderful comments throughout the month on my cards.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day29

I can't believe I have made it this far.  1 day to go.  Tonight was a little iffy.  We had training tonight, and when we got home the TV wasn't working.  So I had to deal with that first, then dinner.  Everything is working again and I managed to get my card done too.

The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Anything Goes.  I used the current sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

And here's my card....

It's a little busy.  I love this paper.  I am also entering this card into the current challenge at Delightful Sketches - Fancy and Frilly.

Thanks for looking.  Come back tomorrow for my last card for the month.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 28

Two more days to go....  Wow.  Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Snow and Embossing.  How fun.  I chose a sketch to use again today.  I saw this sketch yesterday, and it kind of intimidated me.  But I gave it a try.  I'm not sure I like how the card turned out, but I'm hoping it will grow on me.  The sketch is from Unscripted Sketches....

The challenge at Jingle Belles this week is BINGO.  I love these type of challenges, so I wanted to give it a try.  Since I had to create a card with embossing, I chose the diagonal line - Embossing, Flowers, Bling.

And here's my card.  I knew I wanted to use the blue cardstock embossed with snowflakes.  I switched out the squares several times.  I probably should have included red squares and a red flower for a little pop.  I put crystal bling in the center of several snowflakes and on the dot of "j" on the sentiment.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Bling It Up

Thanks for looking....

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 27

Day 27.  I can't believe the month is almost over... and so will be the Christmas Card Challenge.  3 more cards after today.

Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Coloring.  I don't do that very often.  Today I used a rubber stamp, instead of a digital image.

To create my card I used the current sketch at The Sweet Shop.  I thought it was perfect for what I had in mind.

And here's the result....

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Sentimental Sundays - Sewing or Faux Stitching  (Faux stitching around the image and its mat)
Craft Your Passion Challenges - Emboss It  (Dry embossed black cardstock strips)
Whoopsiedaisy Challenge - 2 Patterned Papers

Thanks for looking.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 26

I can't believe I forgot to do a blog post yesterday.  I was doing really well, doing at least 1 for 24 days in a row.  But I was really distracted yesterday.  I was cleaning my room, then we had to go to dinner with the kids for my birthday and my son David's birthday.  When I came upstairs to get my camera, my boyfriend brought a box over to me.  While I was downstairs cleaning, he had gone to the store and got me a new camera - a Canon Rebel T3i.  I was shocked.  It's going to take me a long time to figure out how to use it.  I can't wait.

The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' is Stripes.  I used a sketch for this card.  I used this week's card at Christmas Card Challenges.  It's so versatile.

And here's my card....

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge - Ribbons and bows
Pile It On - I Spy Something with P   (Pearls, patterned paper)

Thanks for looking.  This challenge is almost over, only 4 more days.

Me Too

I created my page today for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I usually try to get the page done over the weekend or early in the week.  I just didn't have time this week.

I knew last Saturday what picture I was going to use for my page this week. I had taken our dog Harley to an agility trial last Saturday.  I usually don't only take 1 dog.  Willie was pretty jealous.  When I got home, we were all outside.  Willie went through the practice tunnel that was collapsed in the backyard.  He sat in the end of it just looking up at me.  Too funny.  Of course I didn't have my camera.  As a matter of fact it had been in the shop earlier that day, so I had to put it back together.  So I did.  Of course when I got back, Willie wasn't in the tunnel any more.  But being the perfect poser, I led him back to the tunnel and asked him to go through and sit when he got to the end.  He did.

To create my page, I used this week's sketch at Sketch Inspiration.  I loved it when I saw it.  And I thought some colorful Echo Park papers would be perfect for the layout.

I never think to flip the camera for a portrait photo, so I had to flip the sketch counterclockwise.

I used chipboard letters from 2 different Thickers packages for the title, so I am also entering this layout into the current Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs to use Chipboard.

Thanks for stopping by.  Tomorrow is cleaning day.  My scrap room is TRASHED.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 24

It's Friday!!!  I have a rare weekend with nothing planned but training.  I HAVE to get my scrappin' room cleaned up.  It's so like a tornado went through there.

Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' for the Christmas Card Challenge is Anything Goes.  For some more inspiration, I followed the current sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy.

And here is my card....

I'm still having a hard time getting a good photo of my projects.  I hope to get a new set up created tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.  6 more days of this challenge.  I can't believe I made it this far.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 23

Oh what a challenge today!!  Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was to create a shaped card.  I can do shaped cards.  I did a circle card last week.  And I have a number of options on my cartridges.  But I wanted my card to be a little different.

I wanted the card to be in the shape of a character.  I found a Santa on my Christmas Cheer cartridge and I decided I would give that a try.  My goodness, it was not easy to get everything on there.  But it's done.

I even had a hard time taking the photo.  Maybe I will like it more in the morning.  I did this card on my own - no challenges.  Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 22

I have made it to Day 22 of the  month-long Christmas card challenge.  It has been challenging and great fun, but I will need to take a break next month.  The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was a recipe:

1 border punch
2 brads
3 patterned papers

I used a sketch to as a starting point.  Well actually I picked out 3 papers first, then the sketch fell into place.  I used this week's sketch at Unscripted Sketches.  Such a nice sketch...

This sketch is part of Unscripted Sketches monthly piggyback challenge.  The piggyback portion of the challenge was a color inspiration.  I didn't follow the piggyback challenge.  Didn't work for a Christmas card.

Thanks for looking.  Come back tomorrow to see my Day 23 card.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 21

I have my Day 21 card to share with you tonight.  The prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' today was threads - use twine, ribbon, floss, etc.

I used a sketch tonight.  I used this week's sketch from Sentimental Sundays.  I so loved this sketch and everything came together quite quickly.

Sorry, but I'm not sure where I got this image.  It's not in my image files.  It's been sitting on my desk since the start of this card challenge.  I think the little guy worked perfectly for this card.

I was also inspired by the challenge at Forever Friends - Anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 20

Day 20!!  Only 10 days left for the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' daily Christmas Card Challenge.  I am surprised I made it this far.  It sure has been challenging.  The prompt for today is 25 - used it on the card.

I found 3 sketches today that I liked, and I had a saved one from yesterday.  But I kind of went at this on my own today.  I did find some inspirational challenges to follow though.....  Here's my card...

For SnC's challenge, the little red tag says Dec. 25.

Paper Playtime's challenge is Polka Dots and a Sentiment.
Craft Your Passion's challenge is Power of Three  (use 3 of something - fussy cut presents)
Whoopsiedaisy Challenge this week is to use a Sentiment.

Thanks for looking.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 19

The prompt for the Christmas Card Challenge today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Anything goes.

To start my card, I chose a sketch that I found last night.  The sketch is from One Stop Craft Challenge.  It worked great for my card.

And here's my card....

I love this teddy bear, which is from Doodle Pantry.

So more challenges that inspired me;;;

Little Red Wagon - Dog Days of Summer  (use an animal)
4 Crafty Chicks - Circles, Circles and Circles
Pile It One - Cuddly Critters

Thanks for looking.  It's 7:30pm here and it's about bedtime.  I ran 13 events in an agility trial today, so I'm pretty wiped out.  Stop by tomorrow for my Day 20 card....

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 18

Wow....  It's August 18th.  The 18th day of the Christmas card challenge.  The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Sweets.  I'm sure I have several items that would have qualified for this challenge, but I used a border that I have had for a very long time.

I used a sketch for my card tonight.  I used the new sketch at The Sweet Stop.  There was also and extra challenge with the sketch - to use Die Cuts or Punches.

The Christmas cookie border and sentiment tag are actually cardstock die cuts.  But I also use used a border punch on the red and white cardstock I matted the border strip with.

I am also entering my card into the challenge at Allsorts.  The challenge is called Heavy Metal and it's to include metal on your project.  I used a silver, metal brad to secure the sentiment tag to the card.

Thanks for looking...
