Home Calendar December Page

I was able to get the last December page for the calendars done tonight.  I used one last sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for January that I will have time to complete before the challenges are over....  This page for the house calendar follows Sketch #4.

I love the falling little heart throughout this sketch.  But since the page I was creating is for December, I used little black gems.

Thanks for stopping by....

My December Page

I have been concentrating on our December pages this week, and I got mine done too.  I followed Sketch #3 from Let's Get Sketchy.

And my page.

I'm pretty excited about getting so many pages done.  My calendar should be done this weekend!!  I can't wait.  I love sitting in my office at work and just looking at them.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stew's December Page

I've been able to create a few more calendar pages for our calendars this week, during the week.  I love most of the sketches at Let's Get Sketchy this month, and there were 3 that really had to use.  For Stew's December page, I used Sketch #1.

And here is the page....

My May Page

Another calendar page I was able to get done for my calendar is my May page.  Looking over the sketches I had collected over the past couple of weeks, I was trying to match them up with challenges at the Yahoo Group Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  One of the challenges this month is Then and Now.  I started thinking that Tessa's birthday page (May) would be a great option for this challenge.  And the January sketch at My Creative Sketches was perfect.

As I was choosing the papers for this page, I realized the colors I was using follow the inspiration photo at Scrapstuffz "Inspired By" Challenges.

I did notice that I was missing that punch of blue.  I added blue gems inside the pink flowers.

I will also enter this into the current Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs, which is Polka Dots.  I used Polka Dot paper under Tessa's grown up photo.

In addition to entering it into the Then and Now challenge at SnC, I am using it as my 52 Week Challenge entry for this week.

Thanks for looking.  I am really excited about getting more pages done.

My September Page

I was able to knock out a number of calendar pages over the weekend.  The first one I want to tell you about is my September page.  I followed the challenge at Frosted Designs, which is a sketch and to use ink, paint or mists.  And Stuck?! Sketches is also participating in this challenge with the same sketch!!  And oh boy, I LOVE the sketch....

This is the challenge that had me trying mists out all week, so of course I used some more mist on this page.  The photos are of my dog Willie that were taken over the summer.  We were at an agility trial, and this particular venue has a pond area that dogs can be let off leash to run, swim and play.  We had never given it a try but decided to see how the dogs did.  They loved it.  I love these happy photos of Willie..

Thanks for stopping by.  I have several more posts to create, then back on to creating more pages.  Hopefully my calendar will be ready after this weekend.

My January Page

I was able to create 2 more calendar pages for my work calendar tonight.  This post is about my January page.

I used this month's sketch at Artful Delight for this page.  I love Artful Delight sketches.

I used mist again on the background.  I'm loving misting.  The subject for January is Harley.  He will be 5 this Friday....

I used my Woofers & Tweeters stamps from Paper Smooches to stamp inside the circles around the photo.  I will also be entering this page into their Sparks Challenge this week, which is Anything Goes.  It will also be entered into the Stamping Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin's monthly challenges.

Thanks for stopping by.

My August Page

I was able to spend some time working in the scrap room tonight.  I didn't have too much time, but I was able to finish one of my calendar pages and plan out a 2nd one...  That felt great.

For my August calendar page, I used the the sketch for the Guest Designer search at 3 Scrappy Boys.  The sketch was so intriguing to me, I just had to give it a try.

The colors I chose for this page are quite light, so the photo doesn't show much of the detail.  I even misted the background lightly.  I hardly ever use mist because it always seems to make a mess.  But this just worked out so well for me.

The photo is of our new puppy Cinda.  Her birthday is August 16th, so she's the star for my August page.  The predominant color is purple.  That's the color of her collar.

I am also entering this page into the monthly challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' for using at least 3 buttons.  I am hoping to be able to put together my January page tomorrow night.  We'll see.

Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate

It's Monday night and I made my card for the 52 Week Card Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I'm pretty amazed....

The challenge for this week's SnC card was CAS.  I am always intrigued by all the wonderful CAS cards I see around the web.  I've not done many, but I was game.  To start, I found a sketch to follow.  I used the current sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.  Definitely Clean and Simple.

I also wanted to use some of my new Paper Smooches stamps.  I bought several new sets just before Christmas.  So I checked out the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.  This week it's Picture Perfect, with a photo for inspiration.

I love the yellow and gray together.  And here's my take...

I used the set Sentimental Sampler for the sentiment and Geo Graphic for the zig zag pattern.

I will also enter this card into the following challenges:
SnC Monthly Challenges - Chevrons  (gray washi tape)
CAS-usal Fridays - In A Word  (Celebrate)
Through the Purple Haze - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome Home Jäger

Yesterday we brought my son's puppy home.  He's an 8 week old Australian Shepherd.  He's so sweet and absolutely gorgeous.  I used the photo my son took of him right after they got to the apartment to create my page for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  Jäger seems to be adjusting well.

I really wanted to join the challenge this week at Lasting Memories.  The challenge this week is a sketch and to use your favorite embellishment.  It's a nice, versatile sketch.

And my page...

I love using a zig zag pattern on boy pages.  I have a border punch that I usually use, but I found a package of rhinestones embellishment that I bought a while ago I forgot about.  There were a couple of zig zag strips.  Woohoo!!  I also added 3 rhinestone from the set at the top of the photo.

I am also entering the following challenges:
Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Anything Goes  (I used the Woofers and Tweeters stamp set)
Red Carpet Studio - New Year's Eve - Use something new  (I used a photo of the new puppy)
Scrappin' 4 Fun Challenges - Baby  (Jäger's a baby doggy)

This page will also be entered into the Stamping monthly challenge at SnC.

Thanks for looking...

Christmas Jammies

I decided that I would fill a post bound album with Christmas layouts this year.  I have never had enough photos to fill an album, and the pages are just in the family album.  But I am determined to create enough layouts to fill an album.  It will help that we are celebrating Christmas twice this year.  My oldest son was not able to be here on Christmas day and we will be getting together next weekend for Christmas again.

My youngest son posted a photo on Facebook of him wearing his new jammies on Christmas.  They are yellow ducky footy pajamas.  What a clown.  Definitely a layout worthy event.

I hopped along with the Ring in the New Year blog hop at My Scraps and More.  There is an awesome sketch on their main page, and the design team created wonderful pages using this sketch.  So much inspiration, and I thought the sketch would work well for the photo of David's jammies.

And here is my page...

I am starting my 4th year participating in the 52 Week Layout Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I am going to use this page for entry into for this week.

I will also be entering the current challenge at Allsorts Challenge Blog.   Their challenge is "Free and Easy".
