Ready

Tonight I had to complete my 30th layout for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I waited until the end of the week again, but I wasn't stressed about it.  I knew what I wanted to do.  I just had to pick out the particulars.

There was one photo in particular that I could not wait to have access to from the photographer at the wedding.  It was a photo of Jenna's nieces all dressed and ready, sitting on the floor of the camper taking it all in.  I think it's my favorite photo of them of the day.

To create my page, I followed the challenge and sketch at Lasting Memories.  The challenge is Black and White with a splash of color.  Perfect challenge for wedding photos.  Here's the sketch...

I used a very large photo, printed on a full page of 8 x 10 paper, so I had to rotate the sketch to accommodate it.  Since the photo is so large, the page qualifies as my 2nd entry into SnC's 10 challenge which is to include a photo that is at least 10" on one side.

I am also entering this layout into this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs which is to use a one word title.

All Wet

I worked on a page this week for the July Stack-a-holic Challenge at DCWV.  Here's the awesome sketch....

I used DCWV's Playtime Stack to create this page, plus a couple of pieces of scrap kraft and colored cardstock.  I bought this stack specifically to do layouts of Tessa.  The photos show what happens to Tessa when she goes swimming.  She definitely does not look like my pretty little girl.

I have been using my Cricut more recently.  On this page I used the Life's A Beach cartridge to create the wave border, the sun and the little "T" charm.  I used the Alphalicious cartridge for the title.
There are several other challenges that I am going to enter this layout into:

Scraputante - Negative  (the title)
ScrapFit - Step Class #6 - The Negative Zone (the title)
Craft Your Passion - Challenge # #119 - Kraft Paper with Lace or Ribbon - (the photos are matted on kraft paper, and the title and journalling area and the "T" charm are all cut on kraft.  I tied a bow with ribbon.)
Fantabulous Cricut - Sunny Days (yellow sun)
Cooking With Cricut - Buttons & Brads  (brad on the charm and 1 cream button and 2 little blue buttons)

Thanks for looking.  I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

Just 2 Cute

I created a page that I am really liking today.  Jenna's nieces are adorable, and there were quite a few photos of them taken at the wedding.  I picked several photos of them with Jenna or Pete and one of just them to create a 2 page layout.

I used the current sketch from Let's Scrap for this page.  I really loved it when I saw it, and knew it would be perfect for one of the challenges at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' which is to use a photo that has at least 10" on one edge.  Here's the sketch:

Here is the first page....

I had rotated the photo to capture everyone....  And page 2....

Here are both pages together.

I think Lisa and Tabby are going to have the most pages in this wedding album.

I am entering this layout into a couple of other challenge as well:

Colorful Creations - Punch - I used a butterfly border punch, a scallop border punch and a medium butterfly punch.

Thanks for looking....

Happy Wedding Day

This weekend we are attending the wedding of Stew's customers.  The couple are both lawyers and really have everything they could possibly need or want.  Their families contacted the guests and suggested that  donations be made to fund an African Safari for the couple.  Stew did that a while ago.  And since a gift wasn't an issue, he decided that we weren't going to give them a card.

So while scrapping I decided to put a card together to take to them on their wedding day.  Stew was thrilled.

I wanted the card to be simple.  And I wanted to use an embossing folder.  I used a folder I recently picked up at Hobby Lobby - Paper Studio Intricate Swirl.

And here is the inside...

I didn't use a sketch for this card, but I am entering this card into a couple of challenges:

Crafty Creations Challenges - Challenge #178 Free For All
Little Scrap Pieces - Fun Friday Challenge - Anything Goes

Swim

I spent a little time this afternoon creating a layout and a card.  I am going to share my layout with you now.

I wanted to follow the current challenge at Lasting Memories, which is "Dancing with Paws".   Simple for me, include animals.  My subject this time is Tessa.  She went for her first swim last month.  We weren't sure she would swim or if she would like the water.  By oh my, she LOVES it.  Stew has lost track of her a few times this past week and he's sure to find her in the creek.

I used this week's sketch at Sketch Inspiration for this page.  At first I wasn't too sure about the sketch.  But then I found it very inspiring.

And here is my page....

I cut the circle with my George and Basic Shapes cartridge.  It's hard to see, but I topped the circle with a sun cut from the Designer Calendar cartridge.

I used this page as my entry for Week 29 in the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' 52 Week Challenge.  I am also entering it into the Sewing challenge at SnC, which is one of our monthly challenges.  I used a template to stitch the paw in the middle of the page.

Other challenges that I am entering:

Bitten By The Bug 2 - Here Comes The Sun   (Cut from Designer Calendar)

Final SnC Challenge Card

I want to share the 3rd card that I created for the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' card challenge this month.  I had seen a card on Operation Write Home on Facebook over the weekend that I really loved.  I don't know who made it, but it's awesome.

This is my favorite of the cards I have made this week.  I gave it to my oldest son for his 29th birthday.  Whoa....

Here are the other 2 cards I created for the SnC challenge.

This was quite the challenge.  All of them are quite different.  This was a truly fun challenge.

Another Birthday Card

As promised, here is another one of the birthday cards I created for the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' card challenge this month.  The challenge was to use all the same supplies, but in totally different ways on 3 cards.  On Tuesday, I posted one of the card I created. You can see it here.

This was the first card I created, and I had intended to give it to my oldest son for his birthday this week.  I ended up making a different one that I will share tomorrow.

I used last week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this one.  I didn't get it done in time to get it into the challenge, but I really wanted to use the sketch.

I again used a sheet of paper from the DCWV Celebration Stack.

I am going to enter this into this week's challenge at Celebrate the Occasion which is to create a Birthday card.

Thanks for looking....

Congrats!!

On my card roll, I created a Congratulations card for my son David.  He just graduated from the Police Academy here and made the Dean's List as well.  We are just so proud of him.

I used this week's sketch again from iSpy Sketches.  I really did love this sketch.

To change it up a bit, I rotated the card.

I am also entering this card into a couple of other challenges:

Moxie Fab World - Stamp It! Cards Congratulations Challenge

Happy Birthday Card

It's been a while since I created any cards.   In addition to scrapbook challenges, Scrappin'-n-Chattin' also has 3 card challenges a month.  This month Abby has a doosie of a challenge.  We are to use all of the same elements on 3 totally different cards - same base, same papers, same embellishments, same sentiment.  I usually don't get around to creating the cards for the challenge.  I spend all of my spare time working on layouts.  But this was so challenging, I found myself thinking about it a lot.  So I gave it a try.

I am going to share my 3rd card right now.  I will create different posts with the others, including all 3 together on the 3rd post.

I looked for inspiration with a sketch.  I really like this week's sketch at iSpy Sketches.  I really liked this sketch and the wonderful design team inspiration.

And I found a challenge that was inspiring too...  This one is from Lawnscaping Challenges.

I used a sheet of paper from DCWV Celebration Stack and several pieces of scrap cardstock on a white card base.  I used Pop Dots to secure the button and the sentiment strip to lift them off the card a bit.

It felt great to create some cards again.  Stay tuned for the other I created....  Thanks for looking.

He's Home

I continued today with photos from David's homecoming.  I used photos of Jackie's reaction to David coming home.  It makes me cry every time I look at these pictures.

I used this week's sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.  I love the little details on this sketch.

Just like yesterday's photos, these are not the best.  I had to use my little camera because I forgot my bigger one.  I used some more of my American Crafts Let Freedom Ring collection.

I am entering this into the 7/04 challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  Other challenges I am entering are:

Cooking with Cricut - Happy Birthday, USA  -  I used Elegant Edges to cut the red design.
Paper Crafting World - PCW Star and Gold or Silver Die Cut or Stamp Challenge

Thanks for looking.  Have a great rest of the weekend.

Welcoming Home Our Heros

I created a layout today of photos when my son David came back from Iraq.  It's been over a year and I had never even taken the pictures off of the camera.  I was disappointed that I forgot my big camera.  I had to use my little one.  The photos are not great, but at least I got some.

To create my layout, I used this month's sketch at the Yahoo Group Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  My friend Theresa creates the sketches for our challenge each month and they are awesome.

I recently got the Let Freedom Ring collection from American Crafts.  I was very excited to use some of these papers and found them awesome to work with. Here is page 1 of my layout:

And page 2....

And both pages together.  I really loved working with Theresa's sketch and this collection.  I used 3 of my scallop circle punches to create the banners along the bottom of the page.

I used this layout also for my 52 Week's entry at SnC and for the July 4th challenge at the group also.  This challenge was to use stars and stripes, but not an actual flag.

I am also entering the layout into the following challenges:

Lasting Memories - Red, White and Blue
My Craft Spot - 4th of July
Paper Play Time - Red, White and Blue
Die Cuttin' Divas - Color Challenge - Red, White and Blue

Thanks for looking.  I hope to be creating a few more projects tomorrow.

Teasing Tessa

This weekend was the 24 Hour Scrapping Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  It's so much fun to participate in this challenge.  Each participant lists 3 paper/embellishment collections they have.  Our host, April, chooses 3 sketches and which participant will choose what collection and sketch another will use.  On Friday at 6pm April lets us know what we will be using and we have until 6pm Saturday to complete our page.

My friend  Christy chose for me.  I was to use Echo Park's Woof collection and Sketch #3.  Sketch #3 was Sketch #46 from Scrap A Little.

At first I was a little intimidated by this sketch, but once I found the photos I wanted to use it became easier.

I rounded all of the corners on this page so that I could use it as my last entry into SnC's monthly challenges. The challenge I followed was to use no right angles.  I also used this as this week's entry into the 52 Week Challenge at SnC.  I've been participating in this challenge since last year.  I have created a layout each week for 79 weeks now, without a pass.

I am also entering this page into this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs.  The challenge is circles.

Thanks for looking.

It Starts

Yesterday I spent most of the day scrapping.  I participated in a 30 pages in 30 day challenge that my friend Mel put together.  As is typical, life got in the way and I didn't create 30 pages.  But I did complete 19, which is the most I've done in 1 month ever.  I completed 6 pages yesterday, which is also a record for me.

One of the pages I created I used the current sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.  I loved this sketch, but I had to turn it to accommodate the photos I wanted to use.

I chose some photos from last year, when Tessa was just a baby.  I used my new Authentique Gathering collection.  It's the first Authentique collection that I've gotten, so I was excited to use it.

I fussy cut the poppies out of one of the sheets of paper to place on the page.

I hope you a scrappy day.
