Snow Crazy

The challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' that I had the most difficulty with in February was the Non-Traditional one. We had to create a layout using non-traditional colors or embellishments for the theme of the page. I did a 2-page spread of Harley jumping at the snow as Stew was snowblowing. Harley just loves to chase the snow. He even knows what he means when Stew moves the chute. He runs around to the other side of the blower even before the snow starts coming out.

Page 1 of the layout was based on Sketch #42 on Inspired Blueprints.

Page 2 was based on Sketch #10 on the Scrap-A-Little-Sketches site.

This is both pages together.

I am so happy that I was able to complete all of the SnC Challenges for the 2nd month in a row. I completed a total of 20 pages in February. I think that is my all time high. Wooohooo.

2009 Garden Layouts

Today I started working on some layouts of the gardens from last year. We have been trying to decide how to track the gardens and organize vital plant information in one place. We found a garden tracking system last weekend and I will incorporate a sheet for each plant into the garden album amongst the layouts.

Here is the first layout I did. The page is based on Sketch #90 from Creative Scrappers.

The next layout is my favorite that I have done in a while. It may be due to the subject. We just marveled at this Hydrangea all year with the brilliant blue/purple flowers. I used another sketch from Creative Scrappers for this one too, Sketch #91.

When Did This Happen

Last weekend, when I was making the bed, I looked down the hallway to see where Katie was. Ever since Luke died, she won't let me out of her site. She follows me everywhere. She was at the end of the hallway watching me. Harley was sitting snuggled up right against her. Katie doesn't usually let Harley anywhere near her. I managed to get out of the bedroom, get the camera, and have them in the same position. I took several photos of the rare event. When looking through other photos on the camera later that night, we found another one of Katie snuggling with Harley.

So I had decided that these events must be scrapped. I created this 2 page spread today using a sketch I found at Let's Scrap. This first page is the forgotten photo of Katie sleeping with
Harley on one of the dog beds, paws together.

The next page contains a few of the photos I took from the bedroom down the hallway last weekend. Katie really missed Lukie too.

This is both pages together.

This layout is also entered into the monthly challenge on the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' Yahoo Group. This one qualifies for the question category.

Wheelin'

David loves his Jeep. He is really getting into using it for what it's intended for. He and Jackie went "wheelin'" in January. He got a bunch of pictures, so I took some and created a 2 page layout of the event. These pages are entered into the Scrappin' Challenge at the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' Yahoo group. The particular challenge I used these pages for are for the use of 5 or more photos on a page.

This is Page 1:

This is both pages together.

Jackie Layout

I was able to create a rare layout during a week night. It helps so much to use sketches. I used the current sketch at Sketchy Thursdays for this layout. This was a very fun sketch. The page I completed is of my son David's girlfriend, Jackie. She went wheelin' with him last month and he took some photos of her. This layout also meets the criteria for the 2 color challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.

Thanks for looking.

Dragonflies

I am posting another layout I completed this afternoon. I really kind of like it. I did not use a sketch at all this time.

And Page 2:

Finally, both pages together:

This layout qualified for the Stitching challenge on Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.

Katie in the Spring

I have been able to create quite a few pages this weekend. Today I completed one for the Sketch Inspiration , Sketch #110 that was posted today. This is the sketch:

The page I made was with a photo of Katie this past spring, early in the spring. She's in our side garden that is bursting with crocuses.

This page also qualified for the Collection Challenge on Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. The papers I used were from Making Memories Chloe's Closet collection. I also used some covered brads, and one flower brad from that line.

Giddy Up Cowboys

This weekend I created a two page layout using this week's sketch at Sketchy Thursdays. I used pictures that I found that my sister had sent to me of my nephews at a Rodeo in North Carolina. Here is the sketch:

The first page was of my nephew Josh, the second of Jarred.

Here are the two pages together.

These pages also qualified as the Ten Challenge on the Yahoo Group Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.
