I'm closing in on finishing Stew's calendar. I got his August page completed tonight.
One of my friends at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' created a page the other day using the current sketch at Stuck On U Sketches. It seemed intimidating to me, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it would work well for this particular calendar page.
Now the August page had to be pretty special. Stew's dog, Lola, died on New Year's Eve. Her birthday was the same as mine, August 15th. So I thought it would be appropriate to make the August page about her.
The border strips are cut from kraft cardstock so I am entering this page as my 2nd entry into the Kraft challenge at SnC.

Stew's September Page
I created a rare page during the week. If I tried hard, I probably could get another done. But Willie needs some grooming.
I created another calendar page for Stew's calendar. I used the current sketch at Frosted Designs.
I loved the rounded corners and all of the butterflies. I knew which photo of the calendar I wanted to use this sketch for.
The photo is of Tessa and Willie hiding in the plants along the driveway. It was pretty funny. They were jumping around through the pachysandra.
I placed the little flag on stick pins. One of the February challenges at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' is to include at least 2 flags or pennants on your page.
Thanks for looking. I hope everyone is having a good week.

Jumps
I took a break from creating calendar pages and created a regular scrapbook page. This is a page that I had not planned and wasn't one that needed to be done.
I wanted to follow the a couple of challenges. The first challenge is the Leap Year challenge at The Paper Variety.
And I also wanted to follow the February Monthly Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.
And here is my page....
So the inspiration I took from the photo at TPV is the LEAP. I thought of these photos when I saw this challenge. They are all the professional photos of Willie jumping at trials in 2011, his first year of competing. We went to a total of 6 trials, but only 3 of them had photographers.
For the SnC February MLC, we first had to follow the sketch. This is a great sketch created by my friend Abby. So fun. We had to use at least 3 photos. I have 7. And there must be at least 4 buttons. I have 9. The colors green and yellow must be included. The background paper is yellow and the photo mats are green. There is also yellow and green in several of the papers that I used for the squares. There are also a couple of different polka dot paper.
I am also using this page at my entry into the 52 Weeks challenge at SnC for Week 9.

Stew's June Page
I was able to get a 2nd page done for Stew's calendar so far this weekend.
For this page, I followed the February sketch at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' which was created by my friend Theresa. Her sketches are great and I always make an effort to use them.
This is the June page for Stew's calendar. 4 more pages and it's done!!! You can't tell by the photo, but the pawprints are stamped and heat embossed. I did this for the first time a few months ago and loved how it turned out. I think they are the perfect embellishment for a doggie page.
With the 3 square elements at the bottom of the page, I am entering this layout into this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs. The challenge is Shape It Up X 3 and should include 3 geometric shapes.
Thanks for looking. I hope to get at least a couple more calendar pages completed today. I hope you are getting crafty too.

Birthday Sundaes - Challenge #45
Happy Sunday again. I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Ours is going pretty well.
It's time for the new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. And, oh boy, what a fun challenge. Get Messy Birthday Card!! Try your hand at getting messy with inking, misting or painting on your card. This week's challenge is being sponsored by Couture Stamping by Candice Fields. Candice is a former BS design team member and is a CTMH consultant. She is offering a CTMH Fashionista stamp set. She is also offering a 10% discount to BS fans during this challenge. Email Candice directly to use this discount (stampinpearls at gmail . com).
I used a sketch again for my card. I used last week's Card Patterns sketch. I really liked the sketch and decided to use it even though I couldn't enter my card in their contest.
It's time again to be making cards for the guys I work with. The first birthdays in my group are in March. I think there are 3 birthdays in March and I'm not sure who this card will be for yet. But I will be ready.
I inked the edges of all of the little squares using a sponge dobber. I only recently got a package of these. What was I waiting for?? I then used the dobber and a stencil to create the checkerboard at the bottom of the card. I put a SRM sticker on top of the checkerboard for the sentiment.

Christmas Card Challenges - Challenge #13
Good Sunday morning. I got spend a little time in the scrap room this weekend. I didn't get to at all last weekend, so it's been nice getting some creating done.
It's time for my final card as a guest designer at Christmas Card Challenges. I have truly enjoyed working on these cards and working with Stephanie and the design team. This week's challenge is another great one too. The challenge is Music. So many ways that this can inspire.
To create my card, I used the current sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy. Such a neat one this week.
I found that the scraps from my Merry Christmas Echo Park collection were perfect to create a card with a music theme. I should have gotten 2 of these collections. It's one of my favorites.
I am also entering this card into this months challenge at Whimsie Doodles - O Scrap. You are to use only scraps of patterned paper for your card. I only have very small pieces of this set left, so it's definitely all scraps.
Be sure to check out the wonderful cards the design team created. I hope you will create a Christmas card this week. Remember, the challenge is optional at CCC, the card must be new and have a Christmas, holiday or winter theme.

Stew's December Page
The weekend started out crafty on Friday evening. I am still working on Stew's calendar. Friday I created his Friday page. I really hope I finish it this weekend.
For this page, I used one of the February sketches at Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits. I really love their sketches. They have so many details and really make for a great page.
And here is the page. Sorry the photo is so washed out. The colors are much better in person.
I also used this page as my Week 8 entry into the 52 Weeks Challenge at Scrappin'-n'-Chattin'. And I also entered it into the Kraft challenge at SnC, which is to use kraft paper on your layout. The banners are all made from kraft paper that I ran through a crimper.

Birthday Sundaes - Challenge #44
Good Sunday morning again. It's time for the new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. And Kristie has a great one this week.
This week the challenge is to create a Stair Step Birthday card. I had never even tried this type of card before, so I was quite intimidated. Kristie has 3 different tutorials for 3 different types of Stair Step cards. I chose to create one using her first tutorial, which is from from Splitcoast Stampers.
But before I show you my card, I have to tell you about our sponsor this week. Stamp Fairy is sponsoring our challenge this week.
They are offering 1 lucky winnder a $10 gift certificate to Stamp Fairy. Be sure to check out the really cute images they have to offer.
Stamp Fairy offered the design team a couple of images to use for our challenge. I chose the Birthday Kids 1 image. I printed the image 2 times - once on plain cardstock, the 2nd time on some patterned paper.
I cut the box and the party hat from the patterned paper and glued them onto the image on the cardstock. I cut along his shirt so that it still looks like he's inside the box. I have been wanting to try paper piecing with a digi image for a long time. It sure was fun and I am happy with the way it turned out.
I hope you will give the Stair Step card a try. Make sure to check out the design teams' wonderful work. All of the different types of Stair Step cards are represented. They are all so pretty.

Christmas Card Challenges - Challenge #12
Good Sunday morning. We are having a pretty relaxing weekend. I hope you are enjoying yours as well.
It's time for another fantastic challenge at Christmas Card Challenges. This one was pretty challenging for me. The challenge is - Paisley. I had no idea where I was going to find paisley in a holiday theme.
I searched my Cricut cartridges and found that I had several with paisley images. And last weekend, as I was working on Stew's calendar, I discovered some Christmasy paisley paper in a Doodlebug pack that I had purchased just for the calendars. Perfect.
The paisley cut is from the Cindy Loo cartridge.
I hope you will create a Christmas or holiday card with Christmas Card Challenges this week. Remember, you don't have to follow the challenge. You just need to have a holiday or Christmas greeting on the front of the card. Be sure to check out the awesome paisley cards the design team created.

Stew's April Page
Here is my last post for the night. This page is based on the awesome sketch at The Paper Variety. It's just so versatile.
These photos were actually supposed to be for the May page, but I had forgotten that I had a few photos left uncut, and therefore not in the stack for Stew's calendar. I got a little disappointed that I messed up the order. Stew said he really doesn't care. I said good, because I am not changing them. It's a lot of work.
This is going to be my 2nd entry into the Heart challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. I really enjoyed our first online crop. I really wasn't organized and prepared for this. I think we may try to do it once a month. If I'm home, I will of course try to participate as much as I can. I will be more prepared next time.
Tomorrow I really have to clean the house and groom Willie, so no scrapping. I have 2 cards to create during the week and the rest of my spare time I am going to devote to getting Stew's calendar completed.

Stew's February Page
I want to share another page of Stew's calendar I created today. This page layout was based on the January 5th sketch at Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits. I loved this sketch, and so far this is my favorite page of the calendar.
This photo is one that Stew took himself. I was at work, but he had the day off. These guys are such posers.
I have I think one more blog post for the night.

Stew's March Page
I have been working on getting Stew's calendar done. I really need to start these in November. I'm about half way through. I want to share the photo part of the March page now.
These calendars are all about the dogs. Since we were having an online crop for SnC this weekend, we had challenges to incorporated into the weekend. I only participated in one of the group's challenges, but I used a couple of sketches to create some pages.
This page was inspired by this month's sketch at The Scrap Room Blog. It's been a while since I entered any projects there. I have to check them out more often.
The photo is one that I used to create Stew's Father's Day card last year. He loved it - Lola, Willie and Harley.
When I get all of the pages finished, I will create a blog post with all of the pages in order. Thanks for looking.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #43
Good morning again this Sunday morning. It's time for a new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. We have a photo inspiration challenge this week....
Doesn't that photo just make you want to eat a cupcake? It comes from My Sweet and Saucy.
So the challenge is to use the photo as inspiration. But, there's a twist. You must include a heart and a birthday sentiment on the front of your card.
I followed this week's sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy.
I used an image from Pink Cat Studio, Birds Make A Giant Cupcake. So cute....
I think I will give this card to my boyfriend. His birthday is next week. I usually don't make his cards, but I really want to start.
Be sure to check out the awesome cards the design team created. I hope you will let us inspire you to create a birthday card with a heart this week.

Christmas Card Challenges - Challenge #11
Good Sunday morning. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. It's time for the new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges. And this challenge is my favorite type - a sketch.
Such a great sketch. And here's my take. The image is from Doodle Pantry. They sure have a lot of very versatile images.
I hope you will join in the fun and create a Christmas card this week. The challenge is optional, but the card must have a holiday/winter sentiment on the front.

Stew's October Calendar Page
I am finally getting our calendars for 2012 done. I created the photo page for October for Stew's calendar today. I followed Sketch #194 from Creative Scrappers for the page. Such a cool layout.
I am participating in an online crop this weekend for the Yahoo group Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. I haven't been able to participate much, but it sure is fun. There are special challenges that members are offering. One of them was to use mostly purple and orange in a layout, so I entered this page for the challenge - and I won!!
I am also going to use this page as my entry for the 52 Week Challenge at SnC. I got the January page and cover done. I hope to at least get Stew's calendar completed this weekend.

7 Months
I'm so glad I was able to create another layout tonight. This has been great therapy for me this week. And I am getting the old photos scrapped. This is another page of my mom.
For the layout I used this week's wonderful sketch at Sketch Inspiration. I loved how the inspiration layout used a variety of papers on the left side of the photo. It really inspired me to create this page.
This is a photo of my mom when she was 7 months old. I found it strange that the photo did not have the date the photo was taken. It said "Betty Jean, 7 months old, (May 21, 1929)". The date is her birth date.
I used a different K & Company collection, Life Journey. Still great for pages with these old photos.
I am using this page as my entry into the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. I can't believe that I still haven't missed a week, in 58 weeks. I am also entering the page into SnC's Heart challenge, which is to include hearts on your page.
I am also entering this into this month's challenge at Scrap It Girl. The challenge is to show some love by including some hearts, XO's or do a layout about someone you love.

The 3 B's
Several of my friends from my favorite scrappin' group, Scrappin'-n-Chattin' submitted layouts at My Creative Sketches using this month's sketch. I had never been to this site before and I totally fell in love with the sketch.
My first thought when I saw the sketch is that it would be perfect for an older photo from my mom's childhood. I picked a photo of her with her 2 brothers. The caption of the back of the photo said "The 3 B's" - Betty, Bill and Bud. Therefore the title....

I used papers from the K & Company Ancestry.com collection. I love using these papers with the photos from my mom's album. I have 2 more pages in the works with these older photos.

Birthday Sundaes - Challenge #42
Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you are enjoying the weekend. We were running errands yesterday, marveling at how spring-like it was outside. It's been a very strange winter.
It's time for a new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. This week is everyone's favorite - Birthday Card with Sentiment. And we have another wonderful sponsor. Karen Doodles is sponsoring our challenge this week. Be sure to check out her amazing images.
The design team was offered several images to choose from to create our cards this week. It was a tough decision, but I chose Penguin Cupcake. I love penguins, and these guys are adorable.
And I used another sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy. I love these sketches. And this one is no exception.
And here's my card.
I used papers Celebration from DCWV again this week. And I had to buy a black Copic marker. While I was there, I got 2 more too. This was a fun image to color.
I can't wait to see all of the wonderful cards submitted this week. Make sure to check out the all of the great cards the rest of the design team created.

Christmas Card Challenges - Challenge #10
I am so excited to be the guest designer this month at Christmas Card Challenges. I love this site and love having a place to inspire me to create more Christmas cards.
The challenge this week is to create your own background for your card. There's so many different things you can do to create your own background. I chose to use a large swirl stamp to create a background. Here's my card:
I found this snowman on a sticker sheet a few months ago. I love all the colors he has. As I was creating this card, I found a drawer of stickers that I had forgotten about. The sentiment sticker was in there. I think it works perfectly with this card and the colors in the snowman.
I hope you will create a Christmas card this week. The challenges at Christmas Card Challenges are optional. The only rule though is you have to make a new Christmas, Holiday, Winter or Hanukkah card.
