Cooling Off

OK.  Back to pages about the dogs.

I did a page of the doggies cooling off in the creek in our backyard.  The photos were taken a couple of weeks ago, in the middle of yet another heat wave in our area.  I had walked the dogs down there to take some photos.  My Willie didn't want to get in, but he sure was cute.

I used Sketch #38 at My Scraps & More Sketches blog.  It worked well for photos of each of my dogs.

And my colorful page.....

I am also entering this page into the current challenge at Frosted Designs.  Their Fabulous Friday Challenge is the Great Outdoors.

Moving On

It's been a rare month for me this month.  Most of the pages that I create have dogs as the subject.  There were a few pages this month that were about my children.

All of my boys still live close.  We get together for everyone's birthdays and all holidays, and several other occasions throughout the year.  My oldest son, just weeks before his 30th birthday changed jobs and moved out of the state.  We are very proud of him for being brave enough to take such a big step, but I'm missing have everyone close buy.

In his new job, they had an all company gathering the week after he started.  There were employees from all over the world.  He was a part of a photo with his whole department together.  Of course I nabbed it, off of Facebook again.

I used Sketch #36 at My Scraps & More Sketches blog.  I really enjoyed using their sketches this month.

And here's my page....

Thanks for looking.

To Afghanistan

This month I have been enjoying using sketches at My Scraps & More Sketches blog.  I have used a few in the past, but I'm not sure that I entered them.

My youngest son has started his 2nd deployment this month, this time in Afghanistan.  A photo of the NY group that went on this mission was posted on Facebook and of course I nabbed it.  I thought that the My Scraps & More Sketch #37 would work well for this photo.

I rotated the photo area to fit my photo.  This will be added to David's Air Force book.

Thanks for looking.

My First Project Life Page

My friends at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' have been giving Project Life a try this year.  I have loved the creativity and the whole concept behind PL.  At this point in time, I can't keep up with doing a spread like this weekly, but I did kind of enjoy jumping on the bandwagon and giving it a try.

Two of my scrappin' friends started a new challenge site specifically for Project Life type pages.  Sandi and Suzanne are so talented and I have studied their pages intently trying to get this page done.  Week--2-Week has so much inspiration and really helped to push me to give it a try.  The current challenge was a sketch for a title card.  It really helped to get me started on my page.

Here's my title card.....

And my first page....  I decided to have my weeks Saturday through Friday.  The page is Week 29, July 13th - July 19th.  I am doing double page spreads for each week, so this page encompasses Saturday through Tuesday.  I am hoping to get the 2nd page done tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my page.  Everyone should stop by Week--2--Week and check out the wonderful inspiration that Suzanne and Sandi provide.

A Birthday Card

In addition to participating in the 52 Week Layout Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin', I am also joining the 52 Week Card Challenge.

When I chose my sketch for my layout, I also loved the sketch offered for the card.  This is at Pamela's World of Scrap.  The sketches were just awesome!!

And my card.....

The prompt for the card this week at SnC was to add sparkle.  I added some shiny gems.  And the DCWV Celebrations paper is glittery.  This will be for one of the kids that works in my department.  His birthday is in a couple of week.

Thanks for looking.  Enjoy your weekend.

Opposite

Tonight I made a page for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I've gotten into the bad habit of creating my layout on the last day of the week.  At least this week, I was thinking about the layout most of the week and even had the journaling figured out ahead of time.

I have so wanted to join in a Lasting Memories challenge.  I have missed blogging and joining challenges, especially at LM.  This week the challenge is about Opposites.  Well I can do a page about this.....

And while trying to find a sketch to use, I found one that I absolutely LOVED!!  This sketch is from Pamela's World of Scrap.  I love that she offers a sketch for a single page layout, a double page layout and a card.

And here's my page.....

The subjects are my dogs Harley and Tessa.  Definitely opposites, but they love each other.   They are so fun to watch playing together.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Spring

I followed several challenges to create my Week 18 page for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' I had planned a page about our last agility trial, but I was not able to get the photos yet.  The photographer is away at another trial.  Maybe next week.

I really wanted to join the challenge at Lasting Memories.  It's been so long since I've been able to play along with their challenges since I was creating calendar pages for so long, so that was my starting point for figuring out what to create.  Their challenge this week is called "Seasons Change".  And as I was looking through some of the photos I've taken this year, I found the perfect set for this subject.

Of course I needed a sketch.  And Scrap It Girl has a sketch challenge this month.  It's an extremely versatile sketch, so I was excited to give it a try.

And Let's Get Sketchy has "A Little Something" this week.  Since Monday was the 5th one of the month, there is a special challenge.  You can choose a sketch from any site and combine that with one of your favorite color combinations.  Well, I love using red along with several other primary colors.  The photos I chose feature a red tulip, so the color combo worked perfectly.  Here's my page.

I also entered this page into the monthly challenge at SnC to include a quote on your page.  My quote is written on the green strip on the left side of the paper.  It reads:   'Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's Party!"  ~  Robin Williams.'

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.  Thanks for looking.
