Jackie & Jen

It's Monday and I have my page for the 52 Week Challenge done at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'!!  It's been a while since I have gotten it done early in the week.   Woohoo!!!

My layout tonight is not of an animal.  David's girlfriend, Jackie, graduated from college last week.  We got quite a few photos and Jackie posted some on Facebook from prior to the ceremony.  I picked a couple of
pictures that she posted of her and her friend Jen.  I have known Jen since she was a baby.  David and her brother were great friends when they were in elementary school, so I saw her quite a bit.  It's amazing how quickly kids grown.  These photos are so fun and refreshing that I just had to scrap them.

To create my page, I used the current sketch from The Paper Variety as a starting point.  It's an awesome sketch.....

I have splurged a few times when shopping recently and I have quite a few new collections.  I haven't used any of them because my room is such a mess.  I have been just going in there, grabbing a few things then going back upstairs to create my page.  Tonight I actually cleared off the desk and made sure the dogs could join me and made the page in the scrapbook room.  I used one of my new DCWV stacks - Chateau Lavender and the matching cardstock stack.

I hope to get another page or 2 done this week.  I have pictures printed and a sketch chosen for another page already and several ideas swirling in my head.  Thanks for looking.

Where's Shadow

My son posted a picture of their kitty on Facebook last week.  Shadow was outside hiding in the hosta outside their apartment.  I really loved the photo even though Shadow is very difficult to see - she's black.

So I nabbed the picture and decided to create my 52 Week Challenge layout with it for Scrappin-n-Chattin.  I used Thursday Take #77 at Sketches in Thyme for the page.

Such a wonderfully versatile sketch.  I put a gem circle around Shadow on the photo.    Doesn't help a lot, but in person you can see her.

I am also entering this page in a couple of other challenges:

Die Cuttin Divas - Flowers (die cut from the Paper Lace Cricut cartridge, Flower #4)
Scrap It Girl - Flowers

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  I hope your week flies by and you have a nice long weekend next weekend.  Thanks for looking.

Harley

Here it is Friday again, and I am creating my page for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' on the last day of the week.  Uggghh...  May is going to be tough, but I am going to make it a point to get my layout done before Wednesday in June.

The subject of this layout is Harley.  He's such a pretty boy.  We are going to have some serious bonding time tomorrow.  He has his CPE Agility debut tomorrow and he's the only dog I'm bringing.  He's signed up for all 4 events tomorrow.  I hope he does well.

For my page I used this month's sketch for the Stackaholic Challenge at DCWV.  I really love this sketch.  There's so much you can do with it....

Part of the challenge at DCWV is to use one of their stacks.  I used Dots, Stripes and Plaids.

I followed a few more challenges on this page....

Lasting Memories - Metal - The title is made with metal letters, and the flower embellishment on the lower                                right side is metal.

Frosted Designs - Lacing - I laced along the edge of the border punch

Scraptastic Club, Challenge #1 - Creatively use a punch - Scallop square punch was used to create triangles for the banner.

Thanks for looking.  I hope everyone enjoys the weekend and Happy Mother's Day!!

New Toys

Tonight I created my layout for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  To create my page I used this week's sketch at Sketch Inspiration.

The subject of the page is the dogs playing with some new toys I brought home.  My friend at work brought a bag full of toys that her Harlie wouldn't play with.  She will only play with small toys.  My guys loved them.

I am also adding this layout into several other challenges:

The Paper Variety - Handmade flower
ScrapFit Workout #67 - Doily
Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge - Recipe
                  Use at least 4:
                       rub ons
ribbon - Pink ribbon across the bottom
                         brads - Centers of flowers
                       stickers - Thickers letter stickers

                        glitter
                the color purple
                      butterfly - 3 punched butterflies
                       flower - 8 flowers

It felt great combining so many challenges.  It's been a while since I've been able to do that.

I am hoping to get at least 1 more page done this weekend.  Maybe I will be lucky and get several done.  I hope everyone has some fun crafty plans for National Scrapbook Day.

Spring Beauty

Everything around here is really coming to life.  Flowers abound and colors are spectacular.  For the 2nd year in a row our Bradford Pear Tree has bloomed.  It wasn't loaded with blooms, but there were quite a few blooms throughout the tree.  We planted a crabapple tree at the same time as the pear tree.  It had never bloomed.  I noticed this week that it has!!  Very exciting.

I took some photos of the pear tree in bloom.  One of the photos was pretty eye popping.  The bright sky behind the flowers makes the picture stand out.  I really wanted to scrap this photo for the 52 Hour Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I wanted to join this week's challenge at Lasting Memories as well.  The challenge is "Hopping Into Spring".  The perfect subject for my spring flowers.  They also have a nice sketch as inspiration, which I used.

And here is my page....

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge is Hexagons.  I used some Nikki Sivils paper as the background mat for the photo that has has hexagons and bees on it.  The I remembered that I had a bee charm that I got years ago and was waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.  I'm so glad I remembered I had it.

Thanks for looking.  I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

There's Tessa

It's been a crazy and busy past couple of weeks. Since I finished my calendar I have not had the time to create much. I did make the time to get a layout done for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. I am trying really hard not to use a pass. So far I have been successful.

The page I created, of course, was based on a sketch. I used the Boy's Rule sketch from March 15th. I really loved it. I love all of their sketches. But as time drew closer to the end of the challenge, I had to choose one to use. This one stayed right in my head and I had some photos that I thought would work well with it.

Just an awesome sketch. And here is my take on it.....

These are photos of Tessa walking around on the stone wall by our side garden. At first we didn't know where she was. She came peeping out from behind the tree when we called her. I loved the position she was in. She was wearing a purple barrette, so I wanted to match that with the papers. I really like this page.

I am also using it as my entry into the Name challenge at SnC. The challenge is to use someone's first name in the title.

My March Page

Well, I did it. I finally finished my calendar. I have one more post after this one for a page I completed yesterday. I will make posts after that of both calendars in order.

This is my March page. I followed Sketch #202 at Creative Scrappers. I was having a hard time finding the right sketch for the photo I wanted to use. I almost searched for a different picture to. But, once I saw this sketch, I thought it was perfect for this page.

The photo on this page was taken by Stew last year, one day that he was home and I was at work. He was so excited that he actually got a good photo of the boys.

I am also entering this page into Scratastic Club's Challenge #3 for March which was to include a banner and staples. I have a staple on the center circle on the banner, 2 staples at the bottom of tehe orange strip of paper and 2 at the top of the green strip of paper.

I am so excited to have this done. I hope you will stop back by and check my next posts. I hope to make one tonight or tomorrow night. Thanks for looking.
