New Toy

I've been working today creating several pages.  I fell way short of the 30 layouts that I had hoped to complete, only completing 17.  But I love the pages I did manage to complete and without the 30 in 30 Challenge that my friend Mel ran I wouldn't have gotten this many done.  I can't wait to try again.

I want to share a page I created today with the sketch challenge at Lasting Memories.  It was a great and versatile sketch.

I used Echo Park's Little Girl to create this fun page of Tessa when she was only 2 1/2 months old.  She had taken the fly swatter off the hook and decided it was hers.

Thanks for looking.  I may try to finish a  page layout I started last week and got stuck on.

You Are My Sunshine

I started out the week gung ho, creating a layout after work on Monday.  I was raring to go Tuesday night, but as the evening wore on, I started not feeling well.  So the pages I had planned didn't get done.  I need to get a move on if I am to meet my goal of 30 layouts in June.

I want to share the page I completed on Monday.  I used the June 8th Boys Rule sketch.  I really loved the sketch.

I wanted to follow one of the challenges at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' as well.  I added a sun to the corner of the page inspired by the layout on the cover Creating Keepsake. I used it as my 2nd entry into the Rays challenge.  I used Echo Park's Little Boy for almost everything, except the cardstock and the title is from EP Springtime.

Thanks for looking.

Waiting For..... David

Earlier this week I had the time to create a couple of pages.  The pages really are a double page layout.  I recently ordered several new Echo Park collections.  It had been while since I got any new EP paper.  I got the 4th of July collection pack.  I knew I would use these papers to create layouts of my son David.

David has been back from Iraq for a year now.  Even though he marched in the Memorial Day Parade in our town almost every since he was little, this was the first year he marched as a veteran.  He participated in the ceremony at the park as well.  Willie, Tessa and I went to watch the parade.  I took some photos of the dogs waiting and waiting for the parade to start and photos of everything that was in the parade.

The first page is one of the dogs with several of the photos I took of them.  I used a sketch from Boys Rule, from May 25th.  I LOVE Boys Rule sketches and really enjoy using them.  I'm late blogging about this and missed the deadline for entering, but I wanted to post it any way.

I had to rotate the position of the photos on the page, but I like the way it turned out.

For the 2nd page, I used a photo of David I took as he was passing by us in the parade.  I used this month's sketch at Artful Delight.  I think it was perfect for this page....

Of course David was the youngest member of the VFW in the parade.  As a matter of fact, he's the youngest member of the VFW by far in the town.

Here are both pages together.

Thanks for looking.  I have to blog about a few more pages that I created.  Hopefully I will be able to get the posts created this weekend.

Bubbles

If you are here for the Friends Furever Blog Hop, click here.

I have been really bad about sharing my layouts recently.  I created 5 last week and 2 so far this week that I have not blogged about.  As a result, I have missed out on challenges that I followed.  Oh well.  I am very happy to be getting these pages done.

I am sharing a page today that I created last week.  The photos are of my daughter-in-law's niece at the wedding.  As everyone was being posed for photos, Lisa was playing with the bubbles that were on the tables.  I took the time take photos of her.  She's so cute.

I used last week's sketch at Let's Get Sketchy, Challenge #14.  I LOVED the sketch.  It was so fun and I thought it would be perfect for Lisa's page.

I used Echo Park's Happy Days collection for this page.  The colors for the wedding were black and pink, with a butterfly theme.

It's a little hard to see, but I stitched all the way around the page with pink floss.  I love the way the page looks in person.  I am entering this page into this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs which is stitching.

Suzanne - Scrap With Suzy
Sue - The Scrappings of Sue - You'ar here now....

Make sure to visit each blog on this hop to see the awesome "furry" projects we have for you.  There is blog candy along the way as well.

There are 7 of us participating in the hop; we are all online scrapbooking friends from the Yahoo group Scrappin N Chattin.  SnC is an email forum where we share our love for this hobby, as well as everyday life. We are a pretty chatty group.  And we have a lot of fun activities, challenges, and prizes to jumpstart your creativity and keep your scrappin' goals.

One of the challenges that we have each SnC is the Monthly Layout and Card Challenges.  Each month, our list Mom, Abby, gives us a list of 5 layout challenges and 3 card challenges we can follow.  We post our creations to  special folders on the group site each month.  At the beginning of the next month, Abby does a drawing for a winner of all of the participants who entered.   These are our challenges this month:

SC '12 June Layout Challenges:
1. Dad - In honor of Fathers Day, create a layout about any father.
2. No angles - Create a layout without using any pointed right angles.
3. Rays - Create a sunray or sunburst effect on your layout.
4. Be - Begin your layout title with "Be ......".
5. Colors - Include teal, red and yellow in your layout.

SC'12 June Card Challenges:
1. Banner - Include a banner on your card.
2. Colors - Include brown, blue and yellow on your card.
3. Mask - Include masking on your card.

So much fun and so inspiring.  Pay a visit to our homepage here and join us in the fun. We love meeting new people!  We also love blog hopping and sharing inspiration we find around the web! For today's hop, we each created a "furry" project.  Here is my project:

I created this page to enter into the Colors challenge - using teal, red and yellow.  I used Echo Park's Happy Days collection.  Perfect for this challenge.  The subjects are my doggies Tessa and Willie.  We had to turn the AC on for the first time on Memorial Day.  The dogs discovered the cool air coming from the floor vent, and Willie laid over the whole thing.  Tessa looked at me like MOM!!!  Eventually Willie moved and Tessa had the vent to herself.

I also followed the sketch from the monthly sketch challenge at SnC.  One of our members, Theresa, creates a great sketch each month.  Here is this month's sketch:

Oh, blog candy.  I have some fun candy to offer.  Please become a follower and leave me a comment on this post to have a chance to win the Jubilee Cricut cartridge.

I am so glad that you stopped by my blog today.  I hope you visit again soon. The winner of the blog candy will be announced Thursday. Make sure to stop back by.  The next and final stop of the "Friends Furever" hop is Abby at Midwest Memories.  Enjoy...

Be Fun

I joined in this week's challenge at Lasting Memories.  I've missed joining their challenges every week.  It felt great to play along.

This week's challenge is Fancy Folds.  They want to see a folding technique used on the page.  I also incorporated the sketch that they offered.  Here's the sketch.  I think it was perfect for the page I chose to do...

My middle son Pete got married on May 27th.  It was a fabulous day and a beautiful wedding.  These are pictures of my new daughter-in-law.  She was modeling her pretty pink sneakers.  (She didn't wear them for the ceremony.)  I made a fan folded flower for my folded element.

I am also using this page as my 2nd entry into the monthly challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' for using the word "Be" as the first word in the page title.  Thanks for looking.  I hope to join in the LM challenges more often.

Look Here

My friend Mel is challenging herself to create 30 layouts in 30 days during June.  A few friends have joined her, and I am one of them.  I'm not keeping up real well at this point, but I'm still trying.

I created my first layout for June last night.  I used this week's Basic Grey's sketch to create my page.  I really loved this sketch, so I made a point to use it first.

I used Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers for this page.  I love this collection.  I have made so many pages with it.  It's almost gone.  The photos are just a couple of random pictures I had taken of the dogs sitting together.  Trying to get them all to look at me at the same time is sure a challenge.  At least they will all sit still.

Mel is inspiring us with challenges and prompts to really get our creativity going.  One of the challenges she posed was to use something that has been in your stash for at least a year.   This Max and Whiskers collection has been in my stash for over a year, and a little neglected as of late.  I think I have enough of the papers left for 1 more page.

I am using this page for my 52 Week  layout entry at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' and in one of our monthly challenges - To use a sunburst or sun rays.

I am actually taking the day off tomorrow.  The first time that I have been able to take the day off just because since October.  I hope to get a lot done.
