Today is a strange day. The puppy woke me up at 3:00 this morning and wanted to go out. So I took her out, hoping she would then sleep until 7:00. It was raining, ugghhhh... We went back to bed and they all decided wake up time was 6:15. Ok, that's not too bad. But this time it was snowing!!! The dogs came back in all wet and cold. So we couldn't go back to bed without getting Stew cold.
We were supposed to have an obedience class this morning. We got there to find the parking lot totally full. So I had to park elsewhere and walk, in the rain with Willie. Well, it turns out someone was using our room for a fund raiser. The instructor had not been informed. So we were standing out in the cold rain for 15 minutes to find out what was going on.
So, that gave me a little more extra time to get working. I have gotten 2 calendar pages done so far, and 2 loads of laundry. I need to get a little housework done, and go to the store. But I hope to get back to creating after that.
For this page, I used Sketch #37 at Frosted Designs. I so loved this sketch.
This is another favorite photo of Willie. He was teaching Tessa how to pose. She wasn't getting it.
I am also using this page as my entry for Week 14 of the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.

My February Page
This weekend is the 24 Hour Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. I love this contest. You list 3 collections you have and April, our host, provides 3 sketches. April then tells everyone who they will chose for. So the collection and sketch is chosen for you. My friend Barbara chose for me.
The collection I was to use was Echo Park's A Boy's Life. Really easy for me. 3 boys, 2 nephews, 2 boy dogs. I am determined to get my calendar done. So I knew the photo would be of one of the dogs. I decided on one of my favorite photos of Willie last year. And Barbara chose our Sketch #2 which is the sketch on the Basic Grey blog on March 5th. I wasn't sure how it could incorporate this sketch into a calendar page....
The photo was taken last May after we got home from spending a great day out meeting my friend Kristie, her husband Mike and their doggie Amber. We had a really great day. We were walking around the yard just checking things out. Willie struck a pose in front of the hostas. He even stayed right there while I ran to get the camera.
I used this page for my 2nd entry into the Toy challenge at SnC. I am also going to enter this page in the Layer challenge at Lasting Memories. I have missed joining the challenges there.
Thanks for looking.

My November Page
On Tuesday, I was able to complete my November page for my calendar. The photo is of Tessa on Thanksgiving in her little dress with matching barrette.
I used this month's sketch from AWDML. I thought this sketch was perfect for a calendar page...
I used black cardstock as the background for this page. So I also entered it into the BorW (black or white) challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.
4 down. 8 to go.

My December Page
I was able to create a couple more pages for my calendar this week. On Monday I did my December page. I used a photo that I got last year of Tessa and Willie with Santa.
To create my page, I used Sketch #71 at Sketches in Thyme. I thought the sketch would be great for that photo, until I got started. Then I remembered that I bought stamps to create the months on the pages. The sketch has the title around the circle embellishment.
So I decided that it would be cool to have the month go around the circle. I used some Thicker to create the word December.
I used this page as my entry into the Toy Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. The 2 teddy bears are the toys. Thanks for looking.

Birthday Sundaes - Challenge #49
Good Sunday morning. It's time for the new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. The challenge is to use numbers on your birthday card. Make sure you check out the awesome cards the design team created. Birthday Sundaes' owner, Kristie, is sponsoring the challenge this week. She is offering the winner the Birthday Mae stamp set from Some Odd Girl.
I used some more from the Celebration from DCWV stack for this card.
I'm still having an issue with my camera, so I had to use my phone to take the photo of my card. Sorry for the poor quality.
Now for some news. This will be the last challenge at Birthday Sundaes. I want to thank Kristie for allowing me to provide cards for this team. It has been such a wonderful experience seeing all of the great talent out there. Thanks also to the wonderfully talented members of the design team. They have inspired me week after week.

My June Page
It's been a very trying week. My puppy has had something wrong since the middle of February and we can't seem to figure out what's going on. Luckily she's not acting sick and not loosing too much weight. And work is getting more and more stressful.
But, I am still in the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. And I haven't used a pass yet. I have created a layout now for 64 weeks in a row. I really didn't want to break my stride. So I created my first page for my calendar. Yes, it's the end of March and I am just getting to my calendar. I'm optimistic that I will get it done this weekend. I hope so.
So I created my June page. For inspiration I followed the current combined challenge at The Paper Variety. How fun that TPV and ScrapFit have joined up for a challenge. TPV has an awesome sketch....
I LOVE this sketch. I had to rotate the sketch to be able to use the photo. ScrapFit's challenge is to include a numbered list as your journaling. Here's my page:
This photo was from Willie's first trial last year. Sorry the photo quality is not very good. My camera was not communicating with the computer, so I had to use my phone. Thanks for looking.

Birthday Sundaes - Challenge #48
Good Sunday morning. The weather here has been glorious. I haven't really been able to enjoy it. I hope to get some time today to sit outside and soak it in. I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful, and hopefully crafty weekend.
It's time for the new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. Our challenge this week is to include an animal on the front of your birthday card. Go check out the adorable cards the design team came up with. Too cute!! And our sponsor this week is Just Wordz. The lucky winner will receive her Party Time stamp. Make sure to check out the stamps at Just Wordz. So very versatile.
For my card, I used some Bella Blvd. Tail Waggers and Cat Naps. I think I may have to get some more of this paper. I'm sure I could use it a lot.
I hope you will join us this week and create a birthday card with an animal on it. Be sure to include a birthday sentiment on the front. Have a great week.

Stew's November Page
I finally finished Stew's calendar!! I actually finished it last weekend, but I haven't had a chance to create my blog posts about the last pages.
For Stew's November page, I had 3 photos of Harley picked out. Last week a friend of mine at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' pointed out how Doodlebug Designs now had a sketch challenge. When I checked it out, I was very happy to see the 3 photo layout sketch. And the kicker was, one of the 2 paper packs that I was using for the calenders was Doodlebug's All Occasion Value Pack. Here's the sketch.
The curves at the bottom of the page intimidated me a bit. But I freehanded the curves and cut the paper out by hand. Not something that I do much. Here is the page....
I even punched the snowflakes out with this paper. Stew was so happy to finally see the completed calendar. He has it up in his office at work, with January page open. He'll probably change it to February next week. I will share the July page shortly.

Birthday Sundaes - Challenge #47
Good Sunday morning. It's time for the new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. And the challenge is pretty easy. Show us your green. The challenge is to use green on your card with a birthday sentiment on the front.
Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Digi Stamps. Check out all of the adorable images they have to offer. Bugaboo offered our design team some images to choose from to use on our birthday cards for this challenge. I chose Birthday Penguin - tall cake. I love penguins. I also used the birthday sentiment that goes with Clyde the dragon.
To create the card I used the current sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy. Another really nice sketch.
And here is my card. I used some more of my DCWV Celebration. I think it turned out pretty cute. It will probably be used for someone else at work.
Go and get inspired by the great cards the rest of the design team created. I can't wait to see yours.

My Sweetie
It's not looking like this is going to be a productive, crafty weekend. But I did get 1 layout completed.
When the saw the MLC at Scrappin'-n-Chattin', the wheels really started turning.
When I saw the color coral, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to cut into my DCWV Coral Couture stacks that I recently purchased from Jo-Ann's. And the subject was obvious. I got these papers specifically for pages of Tessa.
I wanted to take advantage of a few other challenges in the process as well. The Paper Variety has my favorite kind of challenge this time -Tic-Tac-Toe.
And here is Tessa's page.
I followed the bottom line of the Tic-Tac-Toe game. My die-cut is the doggie border near the top of the page. I cut this on my Cricut from the Paper Pups cartridge. I used my black pen to create stitching along the upper square and long strip, and doodled hearts.
This will also be my entry into the 52 Week Challenge at SnC.
I hope to finally finish up Stew's calendar tomorrow. We will see. I hope everyone else has been getting crafty this weekend.

Laundry, What Laundry?
I took a little time off work today and went to lunch with my son Pete, went with him to the cable company and got some more medication for Tessa. I found that I still had some time to create a page before I have to get dinner ready.
I wanted to get my 52 Week Challenge layout completed as soon as possible for the scrappin' group Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. I hate waiting until the last minute, but I didn't have the time over the weekend.
As I was looking for photos to use for this layout, I found a really cute one on my camera. I love the sketch that my friend Abby created for Artful Delight. Just perfect for this photo.
In the photo, Willie is laying on the laundry that I was trying to fold. He insisted on a picture. Such a ham.
Time to make the meatballs. I am hoping to work on a card later tonight.
