Another Birthday Card

As promised, here is another one of the birthday cards I created for the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' card challenge this month.  The challenge was to use all the same supplies, but in totally different ways on 3 cards.  On Tuesday, I posted one of the card I created. You can see it here.

This was the first card I created, and I had intended to give it to my oldest son for his birthday this week.  I ended up making a different one that I will share tomorrow.

I used last week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this one.  I didn't get it done in time to get it into the challenge, but I really wanted to use the sketch.

I again used a sheet of paper from the DCWV Celebration Stack.

I am going to enter this into this week's challenge at Celebrate the Occasion which is to create a Birthday card.

Thanks for looking....

Congrats!!

On my card roll, I created a Congratulations card for my son David.  He just graduated from the Police Academy here and made the Dean's List as well.  We are just so proud of him.

I used this week's sketch again from iSpy Sketches.  I really did love this sketch.

To change it up a bit, I rotated the card.

I am also entering this card into a couple of other challenges:

Moxie Fab World - Stamp It! Cards Congratulations Challenge

Happy Birthday Card

It's been a while since I created any cards.   In addition to scrapbook challenges, Scrappin'-n-Chattin' also has 3 card challenges a month.  This month Abby has a doosie of a challenge.  We are to use all of the same elements on 3 totally different cards - same base, same papers, same embellishments, same sentiment.  I usually don't get around to creating the cards for the challenge.  I spend all of my spare time working on layouts.  But this was so challenging, I found myself thinking about it a lot.  So I gave it a try.

I am going to share my 3rd card right now.  I will create different posts with the others, including all 3 together on the 3rd post.

I looked for inspiration with a sketch.  I really like this week's sketch at iSpy Sketches.  I really liked this sketch and the wonderful design team inspiration.

And I found a challenge that was inspiring too...  This one is from Lawnscaping Challenges.

I used a sheet of paper from DCWV Celebration Stack and several pieces of scrap cardstock on a white card base.  I used Pop Dots to secure the button and the sentiment strip to lift them off the card a bit.

It felt great to create some cards again.  Stay tuned for the other I created....  Thanks for looking.

He's Home

I continued today with photos from David's homecoming.  I used photos of Jackie's reaction to David coming home.  It makes me cry every time I look at these pictures.

I used this week's sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.  I love the little details on this sketch.

Just like yesterday's photos, these are not the best.  I had to use my little camera because I forgot my bigger one.  I used some more of my American Crafts Let Freedom Ring collection.

I am entering this into the 7/04 challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  Other challenges I am entering are:

Cooking with Cricut - Happy Birthday, USA  -  I used Elegant Edges to cut the red design.
Paper Crafting World - PCW Star and Gold or Silver Die Cut or Stamp Challenge

Thanks for looking.  Have a great rest of the weekend.

Welcoming Home Our Heros

I created a layout today of photos when my son David came back from Iraq.  It's been over a year and I had never even taken the pictures off of the camera.  I was disappointed that I forgot my big camera.  I had to use my little one.  The photos are not great, but at least I got some.

To create my layout, I used this month's sketch at the Yahoo Group Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  My friend Theresa creates the sketches for our challenge each month and they are awesome.

I recently got the Let Freedom Ring collection from American Crafts.  I was very excited to use some of these papers and found them awesome to work with. Here is page 1 of my layout:

And page 2....

And both pages together.  I really loved working with Theresa's sketch and this collection.  I used 3 of my scallop circle punches to create the banners along the bottom of the page.

I used this layout also for my 52 Week's entry at SnC and for the July 4th challenge at the group also.  This challenge was to use stars and stripes, but not an actual flag.

I am also entering the layout into the following challenges:

Lasting Memories - Red, White and Blue
My Craft Spot - 4th of July
Paper Play Time - Red, White and Blue
Die Cuttin' Divas - Color Challenge - Red, White and Blue

Thanks for looking.  I hope to be creating a few more projects tomorrow.

Teasing Tessa

This weekend was the 24 Hour Scrapping Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  It's so much fun to participate in this challenge.  Each participant lists 3 paper/embellishment collections they have.  Our host, April, chooses 3 sketches and which participant will choose what collection and sketch another will use.  On Friday at 6pm April lets us know what we will be using and we have until 6pm Saturday to complete our page.

My friend  Christy chose for me.  I was to use Echo Park's Woof collection and Sketch #3.  Sketch #3 was Sketch #46 from Scrap A Little.

At first I was a little intimidated by this sketch, but once I found the photos I wanted to use it became easier.

I rounded all of the corners on this page so that I could use it as my last entry into SnC's monthly challenges. The challenge I followed was to use no right angles.  I also used this as this week's entry into the 52 Week Challenge at SnC.  I've been participating in this challenge since last year.  I have created a layout each week for 79 weeks now, without a pass.

I am also entering this page into this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs.  The challenge is circles.

Thanks for looking.

It Starts

Yesterday I spent most of the day scrapping.  I participated in a 30 pages in 30 day challenge that my friend Mel put together.  As is typical, life got in the way and I didn't create 30 pages.  But I did complete 19, which is the most I've done in 1 month ever.  I completed 6 pages yesterday, which is also a record for me.

One of the pages I created I used the current sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.  I loved this sketch, but I had to turn it to accommodate the photos I wanted to use.

I chose some photos from last year, when Tessa was just a baby.  I used my new Authentique Gathering collection.  It's the first Authentique collection that I've gotten, so I was excited to use it.

I fussy cut the poppies out of one of the sheets of paper to place on the page.

I hope you a scrappy day.
