Stew's June Page

I was searching for sketches last weekend to finish up Stew's calendar.  I don't usually check out Sketchabilities, but I thought I should just look and see what they had.  Well, their current sketch is just so fun, I had to give it a try.  It's Sketchabilities #108.

I used a few fun photos of my dog Willie from a Bark for Life event we went to last year at the Headless Horseman Haunted Hayrides.  There were so many awesome areas from the hayrides to see, but we weren't able to get pictures near all of them.  There were quite a few vendors, so free space was hard to find.  But it was a fun event and we got to participate in a couple of agility and rally demonstrations.  This is Stew's June page.

I am also entering this into the Scrap It Girl challenge this month, which is to include hearts.

Thank you for looking.

Hello Spring

I followed several challenges to create my Week 18 page for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' I had planned a page about our last agility trial, but I was not able to get the photos yet.  The photographer is away at another trial.  Maybe next week.

I really wanted to join the challenge at Lasting Memories.  It's been so long since I've been able to play along with their challenges since I was creating calendar pages for so long, so that was my starting point for figuring out what to create.  Their challenge this week is called "Seasons Change".  And as I was looking through some of the photos I've taken this year, I found the perfect set for this subject.

Of course I needed a sketch.  And Scrap It Girl has a sketch challenge this month.  It's an extremely versatile sketch, so I was excited to give it a try.

And Let's Get Sketchy has "A Little Something" this week.  Since Monday was the 5th one of the month, there is a special challenge.  You can choose a sketch from any site and combine that with one of your favorite color combinations.  Well, I love using red along with several other primary colors.  The photos I chose feature a red tulip, so the color combo worked perfectly.  Here's my page.

I also entered this page into the monthly challenge at SnC to include a quote on your page.  My quote is written on the green strip on the left side of the paper.  It reads:   'Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's Party!"  ~  Robin Williams.'

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.  Thanks for looking.

The Boy - Stew's February Page

This week and I really trying hard to complete Stew's calendar.  I have gotten a good number of his pages done, so this goal may actually get met.

To create his February page, I used the current sketch for the DCWV Stackaholic Challenge.  I really love this challenge.  The sketches are always wonderful.

I used the Doodlin' Around Stack from DCWV for this page.

I am also entering this page into the following challenges:
Scrap It Girl - "Bling, Glitter, Shine & Sparkles" - I used gem bling flourishes and swirls on both sides of the page.

Cheese

Happy Thanksgiving.  I hope everyone is ready to spend some time with family and friends over this holiday weekend.  All of my boys will be coming over tomorrow, with wives/girlfriends.  It will be so nice to have everyone together.  It's been a super busy several weeks here, and this week is even rougher.  We are working 10 hours days all week (except for tomorrow).  It will be nice to have the weekend off.

I created my page for the 52 week challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  It's Week 47 this week, and since I haven't missed a week since starting this challenge in 2011, this will make 99 weeks straight that I have created at least 1 page a week.  WOW!!!

For my page this week, I chose some photos of Tessa I took with a Halloween costume on.  It was a little black and purple witch's costume.  She's still learning to pose nicely, so they are not the greatest photos.  I used several pieces of inspiration as a jumping off point.

The first inspiration was this month's sketch at DCWV.

I love this sketch.  I was so excited when I saw it.

The next inspiration was the photo/color inspiration for this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs.  Just perfect for Halloween themed projects.

And my page....

I used DCWV Indian Summer Fall Stack.  Perfect colors.

I am also entering these challenges:

ScrapFit - Layered banner with at least 2 textures.  The banner has paper, cardstock that is embossed and ribbon.

Scrap It Girl - Tree Challenge - Stamped tree on the journaling spot.

Lasting Memories - Stamp Those Layouts - Tree stamp and bird to the left of the banner.

The Cuddlebug Spot - A Feathery Challenge - The stamped bird has feathers.  I used my Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder to emboss the cardstock banner pieces.

Thanks for looking.

The Cluster

I hope everyone is having a good week.  Another busy one here.  We had a real good time at the trial last weekend.  Going to another one this weekend.  So I didn't get my page for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' done over the weekend.  But I started it last night and finished it tonight.

I wanted to incorporate one of the monthly challenges at SnC into this layout.  I've only created 2 pages this month, and nothing for the challenges.  For this page I used 4 photos, which is one of the challenges this month.  Of course I needed a sketch.  I chose Sketch #228 from Creative Scrappers.  I really liked this one and it was very easy to put the page together with it.

The photos I used are from last year.  Willie and I traveled to West Springfield, MA to attend an AKC Agility trial at the Big E.  What an awesome place.  They have agility, obedience, rally and breed shows all going on at the same time.  So much to see, so many vendors.  Very exciting.  It was the first time that Willie has stayed in a motel.  He was a little nervous, and cried when I had a shower.  But he was real good.  It was a great experience.  I'm not going to compete there this year, but hope to go and hang out for the day with my boyfriend.  Here's my page....

I am entering the page into a couple of other challenges as well.  ScrapFit's Warm-Up #32 is to use buttons or bows.  Well, I used a bunch of buttons here.  I am also using this as my 2nd entry into this month's challenge at Scrap It Girl.  The challenge there is also button, use at least 12.  I used 15.

Thanks for looking.

Pure Joy

It's been very busy here lately.  Not much time to create.  I have been keeping up with the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  This is Week 39.   I'm so glad that I have been able to keep up with this challenge.

For my page this week, I wanted to use some photos of the dogs playing frisbee recently.    The pictures contain all the dogs, but it's Willie that I really wanted to capture.  He doesn't catch the frisbee and he rarely even brings it back.  But he loves to run after it and "help" Harley carry it back.  These photos show how happy and excited Willie gets to chase the frisbee.

As a starting point for the layout, I wanted to use this month's sketch at SnC that Theresa Neubaum created.  I love the sketches she creates each month and really try to use each one.

I used some of my Summer Fresh collection by Simple Stories that I won at SnC in July.  I love this line and have to get some more.

I followed a couple other challenges for this page as well:

Lasting Memories - Ribbons, Lace and Pink
Twine - Tied on the center button
Arrows - One on each photo
Circles - The partial circle background and the buttons
         Bird - In the title
Red - Red lace, red flowers on the paper, red strips on the paper

Thanks for looking.  More dog events this weekend, one with a photographer.  Hopefully I will get some great agility photos to scrap.

Where's Shadow

My son posted a picture of their kitty on Facebook last week.  Shadow was outside hiding in the hosta outside their apartment.  I really loved the photo even though Shadow is very difficult to see - she's black.

So I nabbed the picture and decided to create my 52 Week Challenge layout with it for Scrappin-n-Chattin.  I used Thursday Take #77 at Sketches in Thyme for the page.

Such a wonderfully versatile sketch.  I put a gem circle around Shadow on the photo.    Doesn't help a lot, but in person you can see her.

I am also entering this page in a couple of other challenges:

Die Cuttin Divas - Flowers (die cut from the Paper Lace Cricut cartridge, Flower #4)
Scrap It Girl - Flowers

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.  I hope your week flies by and you have a nice long weekend next weekend.  Thanks for looking.

7 Months

I'm so glad I was able to create another layout tonight. This has been great therapy for me this week. And I am getting the old photos scrapped. This is another page of my mom.

For the layout I used this week's wonderful sketch at Sketch Inspiration. I loved how the inspiration layout used a variety of papers on the left side of the photo. It really inspired me to create this page.

This is a photo of my mom when she was 7 months old. I found it strange that the photo did not have the date the photo was taken. It said "Betty Jean, 7 months old, (May 21, 1929)". The date is her birth date.

I used a different K & Company collection, Life Journey. Still great for pages with these old photos.

I am using this page as my entry into the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. I can't believe that I still haven't missed a week, in 58 weeks. I am also entering the page into SnC's Heart challenge, which is to include hearts on your page.

I am also entering this into this month's challenge at Scrap It Girl. The challenge is to show some love by including some hearts, XO's or do a layout about someone you love.
