My March Page

Now for the final page for my calendar....  my March page.  I used the February Sketch Challenge at Boys Rule.

I really wish I had some arrows....  I looked and looked and I just don't have any.  It's really difficult to see, but I substituted some gems for the arrows.

For the photo for this month, I wanted to use a photo of all 3 dogs together.  It's difficult to get a decent one.  This was taken shortly after Tessa was spayed.  She had to wear that collar to keep her from chewing at the stitches.

So now 2 down and 1 to go...  I have to finish the calendar for the house.  I have 1 page done.  Only 11 more to go!!  Thanks for looking.

My June Page

For my June page today, I used Sketch #14 at My Scraps and More Sketches.  This may be the first time I've used one of these sketches.  I really like them.

I used photos of a hike we took with the dogs last year.  It was a very hot day.  We did have all 3 dogs, but I only got decent photos of 2 of them.  You can tell by Harley (the black dog) that it was very hot.  We stopped often to drink water.  Next time I'm taking a spray bottle too.

I really enjoyed the hike and the dogs did well.  We're hoping to take a number of hikes this year when it warms up on Saturdays when I'm not away.  It will be a great opportunity to learn to use my camera better.

I am also entering this page into this week's challenge at Frosted Designs.  The challenge is Be Bold.  Use bold colors and patterns on your project.

Thanks for stopping by.

My August Page

For my August page today, I used the February Week 1 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.  It's a great sketch. I had to rotate my photo to make it work on my page though....

The photo I used for this page is one that I just could not believe happened.  We have agility equipment up in the back yard.  One day last year, I took only 1 dog, Harley, to a trial and left Willie and Tessa at home.  When Harley and I got home, we went outside.  I was up on the deck and the dogs were in the yard.  Willie was causing a ruckus and ran into the tunnel and sat at the end as if to say, "I wanted to go too."  Of course I didn't have my camera ready and he didn't stay there for me to go get it.  But I was able to get him back in and seated where he was....  He's such a ham.  We went to a different trial the next day, all of us.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

My September Page

I am going to share another one of the five page I created today.  I am pretty surprised at how fast I was able to get things together today.  But I had matched the photos with sketches or challenges last weekend in hopes to really get going.  I guess that really worked.

The September page was actually supposed to be the October page, but I messed up on the photo I used for the October page, so I had to adjust.  To create this page I used the February Challenge at Sketch with Color.  In addition to the sketch and color inspiration, you had to use a doily.  Here is the sketch and photo inspiration.

And here is my page.  I used a heart doily in the upper left of the larger photo mat.  This is one of my favorite photos of 2012.  Willie is always ready to pose.

Sorry the colors in my page are a little off.  I'm still working on my camera's settings trying to get the colors to look like they do in person.  Thanks for looking.

My October Page

Here is the first page I completed this morning.  I had started working on it earlier in the week, but other things just kept coming up.

To create this page, I followed the Scrappy Friends Challenge.  Such a cool challenge.  A group of friends that get together and coordinate challenges for a bonus prize.  It was quite a challenge.  A friend from Scrappin'-n-Chattin' had posted Rochelle Spear's Challenge because the color inspiration would work great for the White and Bright challenge this month at SnC.

Then there is a sketch to work with... This is on the Grand Diva's Creative Corner.  It's a beautiful 2 photo sketch.  I only had 1 photo to use for this page, but I think I made it work.

Next is a Quote Challenge at Scrappin'  'n Happy.  She had this image posted on her blog.  You had to choose 1 sentence from the word art.  I chose "Make time to enjoy the simple things in life.".

The final challenge is found on Kristi B.'s blog.  It's a stash challenge.  She asked for dry embossing, mustaches and pennants be used on the page.  That was tough....  Here's my page....

For the stash challenge, I used my Swiss Dot Embossing folder to emboss the cardstock the dog is stamped onto.  I put a little pink mustache on the stamped dog and included a teal colored one on the journaling card. I also stamped some pennants on the journaling card.

So after all of this coordination, I am also going to enter this page in the Bright and White challenge at SnC.

Thanks for looking.

My January Page

I have been really trying to get my calendar done.  I had a goal of getting it completed by Thursday, but I didn't make it.  Other things just kept coming up.  But I was able to finish it today.

So, I am going to share my January page....  Yea, I know it's February 16th.  But I just finished this page during the week.  On Monday when I hang the calendar up in my office, I will keep the January page up all week.  Then a week from Monday, I will put it on February.

To create this page, I used the current sketch at Artful Delight.  It was a great sketch to use....

The subject of the January page is Harley, since his birthday is in January.  This photo of Harley is actually pretty good.  He usually doesn't take real good pictures.  He's just like a teenager, "Are you done yet?".

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to check out my other calender posts.

Week 6 Card

I created my Week 6 card for the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' 52 Week Card Challenge last night.  I used this week's sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy.  I was quite excited to use it.....

I recently received my first Paper Smooches stamp sets.  I have admired the work my friends have created using PS stamps, but I never took the plunge.  Well now I have 8 sets, and I used the stamps from the Flap Happy set last night.  I am entering my card in the Trend Watch Challenge at Paper Smooches.   The challenge is to create anything with polka dots using this inspiration:

And here's my card....

I used one of the butterfly stamps and stamped it in black on the blue paper.  I also stamped this butterfly on a piece of scrap paper then used repositionable adhesive to secure it to the polka dot paper so that I could cut it out.  I also used the antennae and path stamps on the blue paper.  The "hello" sentiment is also part of this wonderfully versatile set too.  These stamps are going to become habit forming I'm sure.

Thanks for stopping by...

Week 5 Card

In addition to doing the 52 Week Layout Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin', I joined the 52 Week Card challenge this year.

For the 1st 4 weeks, I created my cards without considering any outside challenges.  But for Week 5, I followed a sketch that a friend shared with us.  The sketch is from Fab Friday.

And here is my take on the the sketch.

As a part of the 52 Week Card Challenge, Week 5's challenge was to use a tag on the card.

I am also going to enter this card into this week's challenge at Flutterby Wednesday.  The challenge this week in an Open Challenge, but you must include a fairy or butterfly on the card.  I stamped a butterfly onto my image circle.

Thanks for stopping by.

My February Page

It was a pretty rough week this week.  I was not able to get anything creative done until yesterday, and that was a card I had to made for a 52 Week Card challenge I'm in this year.

I was able to create today though.  I got a couple more pages done on my calendar.  I want to share my February page right now.

To create my page I used the January Week 4 Sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.  I really liked the sketch and it's very different from anything I've been using lately.

I used several papers from October Afternoon's Cakewalk collection on my layout.  My doggie Willie is the subject for February since his birthday is February 16th.

I'm participating again this year in the 52 Week Layout Challenge at the Yahoo Group Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. I'm using this page as my entry this week.  I will also use it as one of my entries into the Anything Goes Challenge at SnC.  Thanks for looking.
