The Boy - Stew's February Page

This week and I really trying hard to complete Stew's calendar.  I have gotten a good number of his pages done, so this goal may actually get met.

To create his February page, I used the current sketch for the DCWV Stackaholic Challenge.  I really love this challenge.  The sketches are always wonderful. 

I used the Doodlin' Around Stack from DCWV for this page.

Happy Thanksgiving.  I hope everyone is ready to spend some time with family and friends over this holiday weekend.  All of my boys will be coming over tomorrow, with wives/girlfriends.  It will be so nice to have everyone together.  It's been a super busy several weeks here, and this week is even rougher.  We are working 10 hours days all week (except for tomorrow).  It will be nice to have the weekend off.

I created my page for the 52 week challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  It's Week 47 this week, and since I haven't missed a week since starting this challenge in 2011, this will make 99 weeks straight that I have created at least 1 page a week.  WOW!!!

For my page this week, I chose some photos of Tessa I took with a Halloween costume on.  It was a little black and purple witch's costume.  She's still learning to pose nicely, so they are not the greatest photos.  I used several pieces of inspiration as a jumping off point.

The first inspiration was this month's sketch at DCWV.

I love this sketch.  I was so excited when I saw it.

The next inspiration was the photo/color inspiration for this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs.  Just perfect for Halloween themed projects.

The Cuddlebug Spot - A Feathery Challenge - The stamped bird has feathers.  I used my Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder to emboss the cardstock banner pieces.

Enjoying The Dance

I got my layout done for the 52 Week Challenge very late this week.  I started it a few days ago, but it got a little more complicated than I had planned.

For this page I used this month's sketch at DCWV.  It's a beautiful sketch.

I also followed this week's challenge at Lasting Memories.  Their challenge is a fun one.  You choose 4 items out of the hat to include on your page....

The photo I chose for my page is one of Jackie and David at David's brother's wedding last year.  I loved this photo when I saw it posted on Facebook.  They looks so happy....

I used papers from the DCWV Linen Closet stack.  Such beautiful papers.  My choices for the LM challenge was Flourishes, Brads, Words and Ribbon.

I'm also entering this page into the current challenge at Frosted Designs, which is to use a Sport/Dance theme in your project.

1st Jacket

I'm so glad that I was able to scrap today. I am participating again this year in Scrappin'-n-Chattin's 52 Week Challenge. I was able to get my layout of the week done!!

For my page, I am following this months's sketch at challenge at DCWV Diary. It's a great sketch and I've seen some great pages made with this sketch already.

I used my new DCWV Playtime Stack and cardstock from a couple of other stacks.


The photos are of Tessa modeling her jacket for the winter. She's getting pretty good at trying on clothes.

I turned the title to run vertically so that the layout also qualified for SnC's Vertical Challenge this month. I am also entering this page into the current Getting Scrappy Challenge. The challenge is anything goes. One of the rules for this site though is to use a Cricut or SVG cut on your layout. I cut the plaid paper and the shadow for it from the Elegant Edges cartridge and the hearts from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge.

It's been a pretty productive weekend here for me. Not necessarily scrappy, but productive. I am hoping to get a 2 or 3 project started during the week. I should have a very scrappy weekend next weekend. Stew's working 2nd shift.

I created a page for part of a gift that I put together for Jackie for Christmas yesterday. I finished it about an hour before she got here. I made a scrapbook kit for her with a couple of pads of paper, some alphas, some Christmas stickers, adhesive, a paper cutter and an album. I put the layout in the front of the album. She loved it. I put all of it into a nice 12 x 12 box, so she can keep it all together.



For the layout I used this month's sketch at DCWV Diary.


I was originally going to do a layout with just 1 photo, the photo of Jackie and David that she uses as her profile picture on Facebook. But I really, really loved this sketch and had to use it. Luckily I had a ton more photos to choose from. I think I will frame the other one I had printed out.


I used paper from the DCWV The Natural Stack. These were the perfect papers to go with the photos. The large ribbon under the photos is a recycled ribbon that was wrapping to a blanket I had purchased a couple of years ago. The bling, flowers and pearls are from my stash.

And, since I created this page on Sunday, it qualifies as my last layout for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'. I cannot believe I actually was able to create a layout every single week, all year, without using a pass!!! I think we are going to do it again for next year. And I think I will try again.
