Happy Birthday Card

This year I am still participating the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  The challenge is to create a layout a week.  This is my 3rd year.  In addition to the layout challenge, we also have a card challenge this year.  I am trying this as well.

For my Week 18 card, I created a birthday card.  At SnC there is also a recipe for the weekly cards.  The requirement for the week was to use at least 3 brads on the card.

I used the current sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy to create my card.  I really love using these sketches.

And here's my card.  Pretty simple, but I like it.

I have a rare day at home today, on National Scrapbook Day.  I don't think I will have time to do any crafting, but hopefully get a lot done.  Have a great day and thanks for looking.

Week 6 Card

I created my Week 6 card for the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' 52 Week Card Challenge last night.  I used this week's sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy.  I was quite excited to use it.....

I recently received my first Paper Smooches stamp sets.  I have admired the work my friends have created using PS stamps, but I never took the plunge.  Well now I have 8 sets, and I used the stamps from the Flap Happy set last night.  I am entering my card in the Trend Watch Challenge at Paper Smooches.   The challenge is to create anything with polka dots using this inspiration:

And here's my card....

I used one of the butterfly stamps and stamped it in black on the blue paper.  I also stamped this butterfly on a piece of scrap paper then used repositionable adhesive to secure it to the polka dot paper so that I could cut it out.  I also used the antennae and path stamps on the blue paper.  The "hello" sentiment is also part of this wonderfully versatile set too.  These stamps are going to become habit forming I'm sure.

Thanks for stopping by...

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 24

It's Friday!!!  I have a rare weekend with nothing planned but training.  I HAVE to get my scrappin' room cleaned up.  It's so like a tornado went through there.

Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' for the Christmas Card Challenge is Anything Goes.  For some more inspiration, I followed the current sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy.

And here is my card....

I'm still having a hard time getting a good photo of my projects.  I hope to get a new set up created tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.  6 more days of this challenge.  I can't believe I made it this far.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 3

Happy Friday everyone.  My week has not been too bad.  I got a lot done and without any real issues.  It was a pretty good week.

I want to share my Day 3 card.  The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' is Anything Goes.  To create my card, I used this week's sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy.  It's been a while since I created cards, and I have really missed using these sketches.

And here's my card....

I have really missed participating in the challenges at Christmas Card Challenges.  I am entering this card there in their current challenge which is No Stamping.  The sentiment on the card is a part of the Echo Park paper collection.  I love the lights at the bottom of the area and am so glad that I also had the coordinating paper.

I am also entering the following challenges:

The Poodle Parlour - Anything Goes
Critter Sketch Challenge - Anything Goes
Paper Playtime - Anything Goes
Scrap-Creations - Anything Goes

Birthday Sundaes - Challenge #47

Good Sunday morning. It's time for the new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. And the challenge is pretty easy. Show us your green. The challenge is to use green on your card with a birthday sentiment on the front.

Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Digi Stamps. Check out all of the adorable images they have to offer. Bugaboo offered our design team some images to choose from to use on our birthday cards for this challenge. I chose Birthday Penguin - tall cake. I love penguins. I also used the birthday sentiment that goes with Clyde the dragon.

To create the card I used the current sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy. Another really nice sketch.

And here is my card. I used some more of my DCWV Celebration. I think it turned out pretty cute. It will probably be used for someone else at work.

Go and get inspired by the great cards the rest of the design team created. I can't wait to see yours.

Christmas Card Challenges - Challenge #13

Good Sunday morning. I got spend a little time in the scrap room this weekend. I didn't get to at all last weekend, so it's been nice getting some creating done.

It's time for my final card as a guest designer at Christmas Card Challenges. I have truly enjoyed working on these cards and working with Stephanie and the design team. This week's challenge is another great one too. The challenge is Music. So many ways that this can inspire.

To create my card, I used the current sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy. Such a neat one this week.

I found that the scraps from my Merry Christmas Echo Park collection were perfect to create a card with a music theme. I should have gotten 2 of these collections. It's one of my favorites.

I am also entering this card into this months challenge at Whimsie Doodles - O Scrap. You are to use only scraps of patterned paper for your card. I only have very small pieces of this set left, so it's definitely all scraps.

Be sure to check out the wonderful cards the design team created. I hope you will create a Christmas card this week. Remember, the challenge is optional at CCC, the card must be new and have a Christmas, holiday or winter theme.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #43

Good morning again this Sunday morning. It's time for a new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. We have a photo inspiration challenge this week....

Doesn't that photo just make you want to eat a cupcake? It comes from My Sweet and Saucy.

So the challenge is to use the photo as inspiration. But, there's a twist. You must include a heart and a birthday sentiment on the front of your card.

I followed this week's sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy.

I used an image from Pink Cat Studio, Birds Make A Giant Cupcake. So cute....

I think I will give this card to my boyfriend. His birthday is next week. I usually don't make his cards, but I really want to start.

Be sure to check out the awesome cards the design team created. I hope you will let us inspire you to create a birthday card with a heart this week.

Birthday Sundaes - Challenge #42

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you are enjoying the weekend. We were running errands yesterday, marveling at how spring-like it was outside. It's been a very strange winter.

It's time for a new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. This week is everyone's favorite - Birthday Card with Sentiment. And we have another wonderful sponsor. Karen Doodles is sponsoring our challenge this week. Be sure to check out her amazing images.

The design team was offered several images to choose from to create our cards this week. It was a tough decision, but I chose Penguin Cupcake. I love penguins, and these guys are adorable.

And I used another sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy. I love these sketches. And this one is no exception.

And here's my card.

I used papers Celebration from DCWV again this week. And I had to buy a black Copic marker. While I was there, I got 2 more too. This was a fun image to color.

I can't wait to see all of the wonderful cards submitted this week. Make sure to check out the all of the great cards the rest of the design team created.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #39

Good Sunday morning. Winter has finally arrived to the northeast. We haven't had much snow here in our area, but up north just a little bit, they had about a foot this week. But we do have the cold. Brrrrrr.

It was great to see all of the wonderful entries last week at Birthday Sundaes. So many awesome birthday cards. It's time for a new challenge. But first, we have a great, new sponsor to talk about. Apron Strings is sponsoring our challenge this week.

Apron Strings is a monthly kit club. They offer 3 varieties/prices of kits. Make sure to check out the wonderful kits they put together. One lucky winner will receive a monthly card kit.

Our challenge this week is a photo inspiration. And it's such a wonderfully seasonal photo....

The photo is from The Complete Cupcake. What awesome cupcake toppers. Part of the challenge is that a snowman must be included on your card.

For my card, I followed the sketch from Seems a Little Sketchy again. I am really liking this site.

And here's my card....

I used a set from Cosmo Cricket that I won a while ago. I remembered it had a snowman, so I knew it would be perfect.

I can't wait to see your interpretation of the photo inspiration and all of the wonderful snowmen. Have a great week.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #38

Good Sunday morning. It was nice to have a little break from the routine during December, but it's also nice to get back to normal.

It's time for a new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. I was so excited to see that Whimsie Doodles is our sponsor this week. I love their images. I have a whole list of images I want to get.

One lucky winner who participates in this week's challenge will win a $10 gift certificate to Whimisie Doodles' online store. They also have a special offer for Birthday Sundae fans. To receive 10% of your Whimsie Doodles order, use the code Birthday10. How cool is that? This code will expire 30 days from today, January 8th.

So I bet you would like to know about our challenge. Well, it's an easy one. Create a Birthday card with sentiment on the front, with the option of using something new. Make sure to include in your post what new item(s) you used.

To create my card, I wanted to use a sketch. I don't use a sketch all that often any more for cards. I found a sketch that I fell in love with at Seems A Little Sketchy.

Whimsie Doodles gave the design team several images to choose from to use on our cards this week. I chose Gift Leah.

I also used a new item on this card. I used my new collection of Nikki Sivils Something for Everyone papers. I really love the blues in this paper for this week's challenge.

I hope you will give our challenge a go this week. And be sure to check out Whimsie Doodles.
