Happy Anniversary TPV!!

Welcome to The Paper Variety's one year anniversary celebration! We will be having 5 daily challenges this week throughout the celebration. And there will be 5 great prizes awarded to 5 random winners. Our theme this week is all about our "favorite things"! Please join us each day to see the great projects that the team came up with.

Today's fun starts with a blog hop. If you have come to my blog from
Rachel's blog, you are right on track. If you are just visiting my blog, thank you, but you will want to start at the beginning at The Paper Variety's blog. Our 1st challenge is sponsored by My Favorite Things stamps. Each designer chose an image or stamp to create their project for our hop. Make sure to hop to all 12 designers on this hop and check out the awesome projects that were created using MFT stamps. There are also many dt members also offering blog candy of their own.

Our first of the 5 challenges is to create a paper project including stamps - clear stamps, rubber stamps, image stamps, sentiment stamps. My Favorite Things stamps is awarding a random challenge winner with a $25 gift voucher to their store!

You'll have until Tuesday noon to enter your project TPV for a chance at the voucher prize.

For my project, I created a card. I chose a digital image from
MFT called Amanda Baird's Love Birds. These birds are just so cute. I couldn't resist. Thank you, MFT!

I have already given this card to my boyfriend. We have had a tough week, with not much going right. It was a nice pick-me-up for him.

Now, before you head to the next stop on the hop, I have some blog candy to giveaway!

I am offering a $15 Michael's gift card. You do not need to enter the challenges at TPV to win my blog candy, but I do hope that you will help us celebrate by creating a project. To win my blog candy, all you have to do is become a follower and leave a message on this post. I will choose and announce a random winner on Tuesday, September 13. Dont forget, there will be other challenges and prizes daily until Sunday at The Paper Variety inspiring you to use your favorite things! Check out TPV at our Facebook page for an additional giveaway there as well.

To continue on our hop, head over to
Sandi's blog. You are going to love the project she created with her MFT stamps.

Happy Sunday morning everyone!!! Today is very exciting day at Birthday Sundaes. We are introducing the design team for the new term. There are a number of us returning, including me (YAY!!). And there are some exciting new members. We are also saying farewell to those members that are moving on. Their inspiration will be missed.

To celebrate we are having a blog hop. If you just happened to be checking out my blog, you will want to start at the beginning of the hop back at the Birthday Sundaes blog. But if you came from Amy's blog, you are right on track.

There is blog candy being offered on the BS blog for those of you who join this week's challenge and stop by and comment on each member's blog on the hop. I am also offering my own blog candy. I will post a photo and a reminder of the the blog hop on Tuesday.

There's still a little time to join the fun......

Scrapbook Challenges is having a Birthday Blog Hop. It started on Friday at 10am (MT) and is running through midnight tonight (MT). You still have some time to catch some of the great activities that they planned to celebrate the end of their first your on the ning forum. To start the hop, go to Pamela's blog. She has done such a great job with this hop and all the party activities as well as coordinating such wonderful talent and inspiration at Scrapbook Challenges.

Pamela created a sketch for this celebration. All of the design team members created projects based on this sketch for their blog posts for the hop. What an amazing group of talent. Seeing so many different layouts/cards really made me want to create a layout from this sketch. So I did.

Here is the sketch:

And my layout:
Stew was so impressed with how good Willie was, he decided that he didn't need to stay in the crate during the day when he was 6 months old. That only lasted for about 3 weeks or so. He was getting into things and ultimately broke a glass that was left on a table. So back in the crate. On his 2nd day back in there, one of the big dogs - Lola or Harley - totally killed his Mr. Monkey. Right in front of him, where he couldn't do anything. Poor guy. I can only imagine how bad he felt.

Pamela gave the members of Scrapbook Challenges the opportunity to join in the fun by making a layout and posting the location of the blog post. Check out what other members did.

Great job everyone!!

Border Punches

Welcome to my blog, The Scrappings of Sue. I hope you are having fun on our blog hop today. If you reached my blog from Theresa's blog, you are in the right place!! If not, you will want to start here, at Abby's blog. You will want to hop in the order outlined in Abby's blog. You will be collecting a secret word from each blog. You can read all the details about this from Abby. Be sure to check out our Yahoo! Group, Scrappin-n-Chattin. We are a great group of talented friends. You will find so much support and inspiration here.

I have so fallen in love with border punches. I have collected quite a number over the past year and try to use them whenever I can. I get very excited when I see a sketch or challenge to use border punches.

I have also fallen in love with combining the use of the corner punches in conjuction with a border punch to create an edge all the way around the page. To make the sizing work, you have to have the paper cut to a specified size. These are the dimensions that are included inside the package:

3.25 inches / 8.25 cm
5 inches / 12.7 cm
6.75 inches / 17.15 cm
8.5 inches / 21.59 cm
10.25 inches / 26.04 cm
12 inches / 30.48 cm

Today I creating a page based on a sketch that I found on Julie Bonner's blog. Here is the sketch:

Although this sketch did not use a border punch, I used one on one of the paper elements. Here is what I used:

My paper is cut into a 10.25" square. This Punch Around the Page set is called Scallop 3 Dot. To begin, punch each corner.

Next, line up one of the corners with the pattern just to the right or left of the punch part of the punch. I always go to the right. Line up the pattern further down on the punch after you make the first punch.

Continue around the page.

And here is the final product.

I am doing a giveaway. How would you like to win a Punch Around the Page of your own? All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and become a follower of my blog. I will do random drawing on Monday morning. The winner will receive this Martha Stewart Deco Fan Punch Around the Page Punch.

So now I have my secret word for you - friendly .

Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoyed your time at my blog. Now, continue your journey on our blog hop and visit Laura.
