Happy Birthday from the doggies

I was able to make a 2nd card today.  I pulled out my Paper Smooches bin and picked out a couple of stamp and die sets to make a birthday card for my husband from the doggies.

This week's challenge at Paper Smooches is Anything Goes.  Here's what I came up with...

The Paper Smooches items I used are:

Sentiment Sampler - Happy Birthday
Streamers - Stamps and Dies
Woofers and Tweeters Stamps - Pawprints, Heart and the Dog
Woofers Die

The doggie on the card matches what my little girl looks like today, lol.....

I used this card as my 2nd entry into the Enamel dots challenge at the Yahoo Group Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.

  Thanks for looking...

Happy Birthday Card

Today I made a card for my husband for his birthday today.  It's been a while since I made a birthday card, so it was quite fun.

I used this week's sketch at Mojo Monday.

And here's the card....

I also entered this card into the Yahoo Group Scrappin'-n-Chattin's Enamel dot challenge.

   Thanks for looking.

Surgery Day

We have had a bunch of snow here in New York.  We live about 150 northwest of the city, so it's a bit colder here and higher up.  We got about a foot of snow on Monday.  So while my husband was out clearing snow from driveways, I went into my scrapping room and created a layout.

It's been a long time nsince I've gotten crafty after work.  I really loved this week's sketch and Let's Scrap.  They always have sketches with so many photo options.

I wanted to document my granddaughter's surgery, so those photos seemed perfect for this sketch.  I used MAMBI's Baby Girl collection.  This is page 1.....

And this is page 2....

Sorry for the glare on the pictures.  I haven't set up my photography set up yet.  I need to get my room squared away.  This is both pages together.

Thanks so much for looking.  I am really enjoying creating again.  Stop by again to see what else I create.

1st Christmas

I have another page to share tonight.  This one is also of my granddaughter.

Since Leena was going to be in the hospital for Christmas, all of her NC family got together on the 23rd to celebrate her 1st Christmas.  This layout is of a photo of her before she started opening her gifts.

I used the 2nd sketch for January at Sketches In Thyme.  I think this was the perfect sketch for a Christmas page...

I used Oh Deer! collection from Fancy Pants for this page...

Thanks for looking...

First Day

Oh my!!  I can't believe it's been since May that I have blogged.  Wow.  Life has just been in the way.  I managed to make 3 pages today and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I really need to make crafting a priority.  It really made me feel better.

So the first page I have to share today is a layout of my granddaughter.  I used the January 1st sketch from Sketches In Thyme for my page.

Such a wonderful sketch.  I used Echo Park's That's My Girl collection.

Leena had to have a piece of her skull removed on Christmas Eve.  She got the band to reshape and protect her head on the 15th of this month.  She is such a trooper.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope to share many more in the weeks to come.

We Can't Wait

Wow, it's been a long time since I've blogged.  Life has been a bit busy.  And it's been an even longer time since I created a traditional 12 x 12 layout.  On Friday I created a traditional layout and it felt great.

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of my first granddaughter.  She was due yesterday, but apparently she's not quite ready to make her entrance.  Earlier in May, my dil had a 3D sonogram to make sure Leena was in the right position.  Technology is amazing.  She has such a cute little face.  I used this photo to create my layout.

I used the May 1st sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.  I really loved this sketch...

I used DCWV's Coral Couture for the page....

Happy Memorial Day everyone.  Please take the time today to remember those that have lost their life protecting our freedom.

Week 7 Project Life Spread

I am so enjoying working on Project Life layouts.  This is the first year that I am giving it a real try.  A few of my friends started working on PL last year.  I was intrigued by their pages, but I really thought I would not like doing it and never be able to keep up.  And what will I have to scrap in this fashion?  Our kids are grown, and not around too much.  And we work all the time.  We don't go on vacations.  And I'm horrible about documenting what's happening on a regular basis.

Well, I cannot keep up.  I'm only on Week 7.  And I don't really keep track of things I think I should.  But I have not had any problem with journaling yet.  As a matter of fact, I have had a ton of journaling on my spreads.

And my intention was to have a 2 page spread for each week.  I really didn't think I would be able to accomplish that.  I figured I would have to go to doing 1 page spreads.  But then Week 7 happened.  The week started out really slowly.  Not much of anything noteworthy until about Thursday.  I did end of finding a couple of things that impacted our world Monday.  We had a couple of very large snowstorms in Week 7.  We had my son's puppy for the day on the weekend.  Oh, and it was Valentine's Day.  We took the day off on Friday to be able to clean up from the storms.  So I had a bunch of snow pics, and a bunch of dog pics.  And on Friday I had the most awesome surprise.  My boyfriend proposed to me.

Since I had so many photos, I decided I wanted to use some smaller PL pages in addition to the regular 12 x 12 PL pages.  I ended up with 56 Photos on the Week 7 spread.  It was such a fun layout to create.

This is my Page 1.....

Page 2 is one of the inserts.  I used the insert for photos of all of the snow.

Page 3, the back side of the insert..

And my Page 4.

Here is a view of what the pages look like in the book.  Page 1/2.

And Page 3/4.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I really don't like St. Patrick's Day cards.  I don't really use them, so I usually don't make them.  The prompt for the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' 52 Week card challenge though was to make a St. Pat's card.  So I did.

I knew I wanted to use the current sketch at My Favorite Things.  I really love their sketches each week.

I wanted a really cute image to create my card and I found one at Doodle Pantry.  I used the Irish Birdie digi, along with digital paper also at Doodle Pantry.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
Cut It Up Challenge - Green and a Die Cut  (background paper and scalloped circle)
Red Carpet Studio - The Lucky One  (lucky clover on the birdie's hat)
Cardz TV - St. Patrick's Day
Digi Sketch Challenge - Cute Challenge  (cute birdie)
Pause Dream Enjoy - Any sketch  (MFT Sketch #166)
Catch The Bug - Feeling Lucky  (lucky clover on birdie's hat)
Through The Purple Haze - Use digital elements   (birdie and background paper)

Thanks for stopping by.

The Home Calendar July Page

I found that I didn't post my page that I used My Scraps & More, Sketch #69 for....

I loved this sketch, and I used it to create the July page for our July calendar.  I think my favorite pages are the July ones.  Here's the sketch...

I used Bazzill Basic Paper's Freedom collection for this spread.  And of course the subjects are my posers...

The Home Calendar June Page

I had so much fun working with the My Scraps & More sketches this month.  I used Sketch #70 to complete the June page for the house calendar.

I used a few photos of the dogs after swimming in the creek in our backyard.  I used My Mind's Eye Wild Asparagus to create this page.  I matted all the paper with black cardstock and the photos with white cardstock.

I entered this page into Scrappin'-n-Chattin's Anything Goes prompt in the monthly challenges.

Thanks for looking.  This is the last page of the last calendar for this year.  I hope to put together a post with all the pages of the home calendar together later this week.

The Home Calendar August Page

I have a post with another one of the calendar pages I finished over the weekend.  For all of the pages, I used My Scraps & More sketches.  For the August page I used Sketch #67...

For the page I used DCWV The Chateau Lavender Stack.

I am also entering the page into Scrappin'-n-Chattin's monthly challenges, the floral prompt.

The Home Calendar's May Page

I finally finished our calendars!!  I got the 2nd one done a couple of weeks ago, but I never had chance to blog about the pages.  I am so relieved they are done....

I want to share the May page I created this weekend for our home calendar.  I followed Sketch #68 at My Scraps & More.

I used DCWV The Spring Fling and Summer Days Combo Stack, along with The Summer Days Cardstock  Stack.  I love the pink and green together, and the pink matches Tessa's collar.

I used this as my entry into the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I also entered it into one of the monthly challenges at SnC - Floral.  The background paper is little pink flower.

Thanks for stopping by.  I have a couple more pages to blog about and enter.  I hope to do a post with the complete home calendar all put together....

Another Birthday Card

For my 52 Weeks Card this week, I created another Birthday card.  Not sure who this will be for, but it's ready when I need it.

The challenge this week for the card challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin was heat embossing.  I heat embossed the sentiment, which from the Paper Smooches, Sentiment Sampler set.

I followed this week's sketch from My Favorite Things.  I really love this sketch....

I used 2 of the dies in the MFT Die-namics Designer Label Stax Set 3 to create this card.  I love this shape.

I used papers from the Simple Stories Summer Fresh 6 x 6 pad.  I love this set of papers.  I have used 3 sets of the 12 x 12 papers.

I am also entering this card into this week's challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  It's Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope everyone is having a crafty weekend.

The Home April Page

I got a couple of pages done today.  It's not looking like this last calendar is going to get finished this weekend.  But I hope to work on it during the week too, so hopefully by next weekend it will be done.

I worked on the April page for the house calendar.  I followed Sketch #2 at Let's Get Sketchy.  It was really fun sketch to use...

I am really loving the springtime photo of the dogs in from of the Weeping Cherry Tree.  Right the tree is almost totally buried in snow.  I used another old collection from my stash - DCWV The Playtime Stack.

I also followed the Inspirational Photo from the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge this week...

I used my Woofers and Tweeters stamp set - the bone stamped across the hearts, and my Design Motifs set - the arrow strip pointing to the journaling.

This will also be used for this week's entry into the 52 Week Challenge at the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' Yahoo Group.

Thanks for looking....

Home Calendar November Page

Being snowed in today, I had hoped to get a lot done.  I was only able to get 1 page done.  I did the November page for our home calendar.

To create the page, I used the current sketch from Sketches in Thyme.  I was so happy to hear that they are back, and this was a very nice sketch to use...

I used DCWV's The Natural collection for this page.  I used a photo to documents what happens every evening around here....

Stew's June Page

I was searching for sketches last weekend to finish up Stew's calendar.  I don't usually check out Sketchabilities, but I thought I should just look and see what they had.  Well, their current sketch is just so fun, I had to give it a try.  It's Sketchabilities #108.

I used a few fun photos of my dog Willie from a Bark for Life event we went to last year at the Headless Horseman Haunted Hayrides.  There were so many awesome areas from the hayrides to see, but we weren't able to get pictures near all of them.  There were quite a few vendors, so free space was hard to find.  But it was a fun event and we got to participate in a couple of agility and rally demonstrations.  This is Stew's June page.

I am also entering this into the Scrap It Girl challenge this month, which is to include hearts.

Thank you for looking.

Stew's April Page

I got so much done this past weekend.  I was able to get 8 pages done on Saturday and 2 more done on Sunday.  I think that's the most I've ever gotten done in a weekend.  For Stew's April page, I used the Becky Fleck Sketch Challenge #60 at  A Cherry on Top.  I loved this sketch...

I have been having so much fun going through all of my older collections and using tools that I rarely use.  For this page I used Echo Park's Springtime collection.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Valentine Card

In addition to be being in the 52 Week Layout Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' again this year, I am also doing the 52 Week Card Challenge.  For the card last week, the challenge was to create a Valentine card.  Valentine cards are certainly not my strong suit, but I followed this week's sketch at My Favorite Things.

And here's my card....

I used Basic Grey Eva for everything except the card base and the butterfly.  I used the same cardstock as the card base for the butterfly and stamped it with the Old Script stamp by Inkadinkadoo.  The sentiment on the little tag is from the Sweet Hearts set from Paper Smooches.  I am entering this card into their current challenge as well which is Anything goes.

I also entered this card into one of the monthly challenges at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  It's being entered into the Tie a bow challenge.

Thanks for stopping by...

My July Page

Yay!!!  The last page for my calendar for 2014.  I still have 2 more to finish though.  Hopefully I will get a bunch done this weekend.....

For this page I used Sketch #64 from My Scraps & More Sketches.  I love these sketches and can't wait to see the new sketch tomorrow...

I used K & Company's Americana collection for this patriotic page....

I will be entering this page into 2 challenges at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  It will be my entry for this week in the 52 Week Challenge.  And it will also be entered into the Square challenge, where you have to use square photos on your page...

My June Page

Here's the 2nd page I got done this weekend.  It's the June page for my calendar.  For this one I used Sketch #65 from My Scraps & More Sketches.

I used a fun photo of the dogs playing frisbee for this page.  They have a unique way of playing.  Harley, the black dog, catches it and waits for the other 2 to help him carry it back.  They are too cute.

I used American Crafts Play collection for this page.  It's another older collection I have rediscovered.  I am also entering this one into Scrappin'-n-Chattin's monthly challenge called I love.  Your journaling has to start with the words I love....
