Christmas Card Challenge - Day 30!!!

I made it!!!  I created a Christmas Card a day for 30 days.

Today's final prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was to scraplift a card created by earlier in the challenge.  I scraplifted my friend Suzanne.  Here is her card from Day 3.

And here is my take....

This has been a fun challenge.  I am so glad I gave it a try.  Thanks so much for all of the wonderful comments throughout the month on my cards.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day29

I can't believe I have made it this far.  1 day to go.  Tonight was a little iffy.  We had training tonight, and when we got home the TV wasn't working.  So I had to deal with that first, then dinner.  Everything is working again and I managed to get my card done too.

The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Anything Goes.  I used the current sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

And here's my card....

It's a little busy.  I love this paper.  I am also entering this card into the current challenge at Delightful Sketches - Fancy and Frilly.

Thanks for looking.  Come back tomorrow for my last card for the month.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 28

Two more days to go....  Wow.  Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Snow and Embossing.  How fun.  I chose a sketch to use again today.  I saw this sketch yesterday, and it kind of intimidated me.  But I gave it a try.  I'm not sure I like how the card turned out, but I'm hoping it will grow on me.  The sketch is from Unscripted Sketches....

The challenge at Jingle Belles this week is BINGO.  I love these type of challenges, so I wanted to give it a try.  Since I had to create a card with embossing, I chose the diagonal line - Embossing, Flowers, Bling.

And here's my card.  I knew I wanted to use the blue cardstock embossed with snowflakes.  I switched out the squares several times.  I probably should have included red squares and a red flower for a little pop.  I put crystal bling in the center of several snowflakes and on the dot of "j" on the sentiment.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Bling It Up

Thanks for looking....

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 27

Day 27.  I can't believe the month is almost over... and so will be the Christmas Card Challenge.  3 more cards after today.

Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Coloring.  I don't do that very often.  Today I used a rubber stamp, instead of a digital image.

To create my card I used the current sketch at The Sweet Shop.  I thought it was perfect for what I had in mind.

And here's the result....

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Sentimental Sundays - Sewing or Faux Stitching  (Faux stitching around the image and its mat)
Craft Your Passion Challenges - Emboss It  (Dry embossed black cardstock strips)
Whoopsiedaisy Challenge - 2 Patterned Papers

Thanks for looking.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 26

I can't believe I forgot to do a blog post yesterday.  I was doing really well, doing at least 1 for 24 days in a row.  But I was really distracted yesterday.  I was cleaning my room, then we had to go to dinner with the kids for my birthday and my son David's birthday.  When I came upstairs to get my camera, my boyfriend brought a box over to me.  While I was downstairs cleaning, he had gone to the store and got me a new camera - a Canon Rebel T3i.  I was shocked.  It's going to take me a long time to figure out how to use it.  I can't wait.

The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' is Stripes.  I used a sketch for this card.  I used this week's card at Christmas Card Challenges.  It's so versatile.

And here's my card....

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge - Ribbons and bows
Pile It On - I Spy Something with P   (Pearls, patterned paper)

Thanks for looking.  This challenge is almost over, only 4 more days.

Me Too

I created my page today for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  I usually try to get the page done over the weekend or early in the week.  I just didn't have time this week.

I knew last Saturday what picture I was going to use for my page this week. I had taken our dog Harley to an agility trial last Saturday.  I usually don't only take 1 dog.  Willie was pretty jealous.  When I got home, we were all outside.  Willie went through the practice tunnel that was collapsed in the backyard.  He sat in the end of it just looking up at me.  Too funny.  Of course I didn't have my camera.  As a matter of fact it had been in the shop earlier that day, so I had to put it back together.  So I did.  Of course when I got back, Willie wasn't in the tunnel any more.  But being the perfect poser, I led him back to the tunnel and asked him to go through and sit when he got to the end.  He did.

To create my page, I used this week's sketch at Sketch Inspiration.  I loved it when I saw it.  And I thought some colorful Echo Park papers would be perfect for the layout.

I never think to flip the camera for a portrait photo, so I had to flip the sketch counterclockwise.

I used chipboard letters from 2 different Thickers packages for the title, so I am also entering this layout into the current Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs to use Chipboard.

Thanks for stopping by.  Tomorrow is cleaning day.  My scrap room is TRASHED.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 24

It's Friday!!!  I have a rare weekend with nothing planned but training.  I HAVE to get my scrappin' room cleaned up.  It's so like a tornado went through there.

Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' for the Christmas Card Challenge is Anything Goes.  For some more inspiration, I followed the current sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy.

And here is my card....

I'm still having a hard time getting a good photo of my projects.  I hope to get a new set up created tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.  6 more days of this challenge.  I can't believe I made it this far.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 23

Oh what a challenge today!!  Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was to create a shaped card.  I can do shaped cards.  I did a circle card last week.  And I have a number of options on my cartridges.  But I wanted my card to be a little different.

I wanted the card to be in the shape of a character.  I found a Santa on my Christmas Cheer cartridge and I decided I would give that a try.  My goodness, it was not easy to get everything on there.  But it's done.

I even had a hard time taking the photo.  Maybe I will like it more in the morning.  I did this card on my own - no challenges.  Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 22

I have made it to Day 22 of the  month-long Christmas card challenge.  It has been challenging and great fun, but I will need to take a break next month.  The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was a recipe:

1 border punch
2 brads
3 patterned papers

I used a sketch to as a starting point.  Well actually I picked out 3 papers first, then the sketch fell into place.  I used this week's sketch at Unscripted Sketches.  Such a nice sketch...

This sketch is part of Unscripted Sketches monthly piggyback challenge.  The piggyback portion of the challenge was a color inspiration.  I didn't follow the piggyback challenge.  Didn't work for a Christmas card.

Thanks for looking.  Come back tomorrow to see my Day 23 card.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 21

I have my Day 21 card to share with you tonight.  The prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' today was threads - use twine, ribbon, floss, etc.

I used a sketch tonight.  I used this week's sketch from Sentimental Sundays.  I so loved this sketch and everything came together quite quickly.

Sorry, but I'm not sure where I got this image.  It's not in my image files.  It's been sitting on my desk since the start of this card challenge.  I think the little guy worked perfectly for this card.

I was also inspired by the challenge at Forever Friends - Anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 20

Day 20!!  Only 10 days left for the Scrappin'-n-Chattin' daily Christmas Card Challenge.  I am surprised I made it this far.  It sure has been challenging.  The prompt for today is 25 - used it on the card.

I found 3 sketches today that I liked, and I had a saved one from yesterday.  But I kind of went at this on my own today.  I did find some inspirational challenges to follow though.....  Here's my card...

For SnC's challenge, the little red tag says Dec. 25.

Paper Playtime's challenge is Polka Dots and a Sentiment.
Craft Your Passion's challenge is Power of Three  (use 3 of something - fussy cut presents)
Whoopsiedaisy Challenge this week is to use a Sentiment.

Thanks for looking.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 19

The prompt for the Christmas Card Challenge today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Anything goes.

To start my card, I chose a sketch that I found last night.  The sketch is from One Stop Craft Challenge.  It worked great for my card.

And here's my card....

I love this teddy bear, which is from Doodle Pantry.

So more challenges that inspired me;;;

Little Red Wagon - Dog Days of Summer  (use an animal)
4 Crafty Chicks - Circles, Circles and Circles
Pile It One - Cuddly Critters

Thanks for looking.  It's 7:30pm here and it's about bedtime.  I ran 13 events in an agility trial today, so I'm pretty wiped out.  Stop by tomorrow for my Day 20 card....

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 18

Wow....  It's August 18th.  The 18th day of the Christmas card challenge.  The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Sweets.  I'm sure I have several items that would have qualified for this challenge, but I used a border that I have had for a very long time.

I used a sketch for my card tonight.  I used the new sketch at The Sweet Stop.  There was also and extra challenge with the sketch - to use Die Cuts or Punches.

The Christmas cookie border and sentiment tag are actually cardstock die cuts.  But I also use used a border punch on the red and white cardstock I matted the border strip with.

I am also entering my card into the challenge at Allsorts.  The challenge is called Heavy Metal and it's to include metal on your project.  I used a silver, metal brad to secure the sentiment tag to the card.

Thanks for looking...

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 17

Today is Friday, Day 17 of the Christmas Card Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  The prompt today was very, very challenging.  The challenge was to use a circle, square and triangle on the card.

Tonight I didn't use a sketch.  I have wanted to do a shaped card.  So I cut a circle card from my Birthday Bash cartridge.  I also cut the associated tag, which is a scalloped circle.  Here's the card...

I am going to enter this card into this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs.  The challenge is  to use twine or ribbon.

My Boy

I had to get my layout completed for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  Last night I saw a sketch from Basic Grey that really jumped out at me.  It's a 2 page sketch, and I really wanted to use it.

I had wanted to do a 1 photo layout of my Tessa, but after I saw this sketch, I thought some photos of Willie would work great.  Here is page 1....

And page 2....

Now both pages together.  (Sorry the photos of the pages are better.  It's difficult taking good photos at night.)

I used the Basic Grey collection Granola.  I was so excited as the pages came together.  I think the papers were perfect.

I am also going to enter this layout at Dutch Dare Card Challenges.  The current challenge is Furry Friends.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 16

I have made it past half way through the month long challenge to create a Christmas card a day at the Yahoo Group Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  It has been challenging to get a card done every day.  My room is a total wreck, but I am really enjoying this challenge.

The prompt today at SnC was  Anything Goes.  OK, cool, but I needed some more inspiration.  I loved the new sketch at Pals Paper Arts.  So many ideas started....

And here is my take.....

Other challenges that inspired me....

Charisma Cardz Challenge - Monochrome  (shades of greens)
Delightful Challenges - Punches and Dies  (I used 1 of the Labels Four Nestabilities dies)
Southern Girls Challenge - Chippie (I used chipboard letters for the sentiment)

Thanks for looking.  Come back again tomorrow for Day 17...

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 15

Another quick post tonight.  I got my card done for today.  The prompt for the CCC at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' is to use 2 different stamps.

I used the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This is a very cool and versatile sketch.

For my 2 stamps I used a background music stamp from Recollections and a Christmas sentiment from another set.

Thanks for looking....

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 14

I have a real quick card and blog post for tonight.  Busy, busy, busy....

Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' was Santa.  I knew I had some Santa embellishments just waiting to be used.

For this card I used this week's sketch at Try It On Tuesday.  I knew it would be perfect for what I had in mind.

And here he is....

I was also inspired by these challenges:

My Time To Craft - Christmas in August

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 13

Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' for our Christmas Card Challenge is Paper Piecing.  I saw this sketch from Card Positioning System yesterday, but it didn't work well with what I had in mind for yesterday.  So I used it today....

Here's my card...  The picture is not very good.  The more cards I make, the harder I'm finding it to get a decent picture.  Next month I will have to solve this problem.

I love this little penguin.  Thank goodness for Create A Critter..  Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 12

Busy day today, and still have a bit to do before bed.  But I did manage to get my card.  The prompt today at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' is Polka Dots.

I used another sketch for this card.  I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch at The Sweetest Thing.

For additional inspiration, I played along with Pile It On.  The challenge this week is BINGO.

The BINGO I chose was right down the middle......  Here's my card....

I used my Cuttlebug Polka Dot embossing folder to emboss the piece of red paper to the right of the image.  The image is Winter Wishes from Doodle Pantry.  And my pearls are on the red border punch.

I am also entering this card at Christmas Card Challenges.  The challenge this week is to include Texture...

Thanks for looking.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 11

Good evening everyone.  I completed my Day 11 card for the month long challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' to create a Christmas card every day in August.  Today's prompt was Embossing, either wet or dry.

To create my card I used the new sketch at Unscripted Sketches.  It worked perfectly for what I was thinking.

I used 3 of my embossing folders on this card.  I also used nothing but scraps (except for the card base).

I also followed a couple of other challenge.  The new challenge at Just Us Girls is to use ribbon scraps.  I have a jar with small, leftover pieces of ribbon.  I found the see through white ribbon with white dots on it in there.  I scrunched it up and placed it in the center of the card.

And the last challenge for this card is this week's challenge at Allsorts.  The challenge is to use circles.

Thanks for stopping by.  Check back tomorrow for Day 12.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 10

I got my 10th card done.  1/3 of the way through the challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.   The prompt today was Holly.

I  used this week's sketch at iSpy Sketches to create this card.

I love using banners and have been really wanting to do another card with some banners.

I used a bunch of scraps that I have in my Christmas container to create this card.  I've also been itching to use the holly background paper and the holly leaves and brad.

Thanks for looking.  Have a great weekend.

Christmas Card Challenge - Day 9

I want to share my Day 9 Christmas card.  Today's prompt at Scrappin'-n-Chattin' is Bling, bling!

I used the current sketch at Shelly's Images.  I love this sketch.  It's right up my alley.

And here is my card....

I have been dying to incorporate one of these blingy swirls into a card since the challenge started.  They have been waiting on my desk.  I also used 3 cute, little, tiny black buttons on this card.  I am going to join this week's challenge at Stamp n doodle, which is to include a button or buttons.

Thanks for looking.  One more day and the weekend's here.  I hope everyone has some fun plans.  Come back tomorrow for my Day 10 card.

A Hot Hike

I created my layout tonight for the 52 Week Challenge at Scrappin'-n-Chattin'.  We are having a year long contest to create a page a week.  If needed, each participant can use 5 passes throughout the year, but the page has to be made up the following week.  I participated in the challenge last year too.  I didn't use a pass last year, and haven't used one this year to this point.  So I have created a minimum of a layout a week for 84 weeks.  Wow!!

To create this page, I used this month's sketch for the Sketch Challenge at SnC.  Each month one of our members, Theresa, creates an awesome sketch for the Sketch Challenge.  Here is the wonderful sketch:

,And here's my page.

The photos are from this past weekend.  Stew's been so busy working at customers' houses during the spring and early summer that we really haven't spent any time together and have done nothing other than grocery shopping occasionally together.  So we decided to take a hike with the dogs on Saturday.  It really wasn't the best day to do it.  It was pretty hot.  Tessa had never been on a hike before, but she did very well.  They all did very well.  We went through a bunch of water along the 3 miles we hiked.  They are turning abandoned railroad tracks into nice, paved hiking trails all over around here.  In 2009 they revamped an old railroad bridge that goes across the Hudson River.  It's so awesome.  They just completed the trail from Highland, NY up to the bridge this year.  I had wanted to go on the bridge, but there is no shade up there, so we started the trail going the other way.  Good choice.  There was quite a bid of shade available all along the way. Still really hot though.  The dogs and I crashed for a couple hours when we got home.

For additional inspiration for this page, I followed this week's challenge at Lasting Memories.  The challenge this week is BINGO.  I love challenges like this, but this one was a little tough for me.  But I got it.

I used the 2nd row.  The frame and flowers are together are the left side of the photos.  The lace is at the bottom of the photos.  The frame, sunglasses and sun are all metal, as are the 4 brads I used.  The sewing is a little harder to see.  It's in the upper right of the layout, 2 stitched stars.  Here's a closer up look...

And this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs was a color challenge.  I loved the colors in the inspiration, but I wasn't sure I could find the perfect papers to match these colors quickly enough to get this page done.  But I did.  I was so excited and worked hard to get this page done tonight.  Here is the inspiration....

I used K&Company's Wild Saffron.  They are awesome papers.  It's the first time I've used them.  I have to find something else to use them for.

Here are other challenges that I am joining also:

Unique Crafters Challenge - Sparkle and Shine  (I used 2 kinds of glittery Thickers for the title)
Truly Madly Crafty - Summer Fun  (our hike)
ScrapFit Warm Up #30 - Doodling  (I doodled around the date box and yellow paper the photos are on)
Cricut Chirp - A Buzzing Bug Bow  (Bug - lady bugs around photos, Bow - On Tessa, Cut - Bottle and
                       leash from Everyday Paperdoll)
Scraptastic Club - Subway Art Challenge  (3 different Thickers for title)
Creative Accents - Summer Sunshine - Yellow
The Crafty Pad Designs - Metal  (frame, sunglasses and sun charms and brads)

I am also using this layout as my entry into the Brad challenge at SnC for our monthly challenges.

Phew....  Thanks for looking.  Have a great rest of the week.
